And now it is time for me to close the diary. As of this week I have completed my BRO - The 3 1/2 years since it was granted have simply flown by!
The diary has achieved what it set out to do it has given someone who was in the same spot I was in 4 years ago a place to look up information and to see what will happen to them if the BR was there fault.
As for me, I am glad it is all over, when I got discharged I tried to get on the forums more but even the word Bankrupt made me feel ill. I still stalk the forum now and again to help, however the people here are much more knowledgeable and I never want to give incorrect advice so I do tend to not post that much at all.
Once again, huge thanks to everyone on here, I know a lot of people who helped me back in '09 are no longer posters but I really valued all the help, support and best wishes you all sent over. I was in a horrible place and this forum was the only bright spot I had.
I feel guilty about the mess I caused, I read the stories on here of people who were forced into BR because of no fault of themselves and it makes me feel horrible. Mine was pretty much 100% self inflicted, and I am just grateful I got through it ok and stopped the gambling. Which I urge anyone who is reading this to do. I was in your shoes 4 years ago, I thought that I simply could not give up as i needed to win back what I had lost. I know exactly how you are feeling but you must give up. There is no big win around the corner, you simply have to stop and face up to what you owe. The people at Gamcare.org.uk are great. Kicking the habit is hard work but you feel so much better when you do.
I love you all and really wish you all get through this horrible time in your lives and move on. It is the hardest thing you will do, but if I can do it then everyone can.
Thanks for everything everyone.0 -

Wow!
I am not sure if you are still around here Amiga, but I just wanted to thank YOU!
We share a similar story, and this diary has giving me the confidence to start taking action and getting the help I desperatley need! I have been gambling large amounts of money since I was 16 (now 31) and taken out unreal amounts of loans, pay day loans etc and never paid any of my creditors back, thinkin I would win a fortune and have the cash to pay everyone off and start a fresh. I have now learned at 31, that is never going to happen, but now I am faced with all this Debt I will never be able to pay off, so truly - THANK YOU! Even after all these years, your diary is still inspiring and still helping others!
I have made my own thread for some advice in the right direction, as I am slightly different.
I am so very happy that life seems to be getting better and better for you!xx0
