Well as of 10.10am today I am debt free
The word I would use to describe the court part of BR is Professional. I arrived at 9am Appointment at 9.30am. Was told to go upstairs. ( I filed in a Civil Justice Court, the name made me think Batman or Spiderman were about to leap out to issue some justice!) At 9.30 a counter opened and the very very nice clerk, took my money, mde me do the oath thingymajig and checkde my forms. She was great and told me I would have a slight wait, and then said go downstairs to the main waiting room, you will be called. So off I toddled to wait, this area was most interesting, I was the only BR person there as everyone else had lawyers and talking about cases. The chap next to me had his knickers in a right twist about confiers at the back of his garden! :rotfl:
Anyway at 10.10 this Intercom thing ding dongs and states "Mr Amiga to hearing room 2 if you please" As it happened I did please, and walked in. The room was like a mini court with the Judge sitting at the top. He asked me to take a chair, asked me if I took advice, who with, the reason for bankruptcy ( I said Gambling, he looked at me and said I was the first honest person that week! No idea what that meant) Anyway he then asked if I had any questions, when I said no, he said Ok, Mr Amiga as of 10.10 19/8/09 you are Bankrupt.
Then he told me to go back to the third floor where the super nice lady called the OR who went through some basics. She seemed pretty nice, not friendly of course but decent. She then said I would have a telephone interview on the 2nd September! Was shocked by this as I went BR with a lot of debt and it was all my fault
I was then dismissed and walked on air all the way home
I don't want to make out today was like a day at the beach. It wasn't, the people who deal with your BR deal with it in a decent way. I didn't feel judged or looked down on. The worry I felt was totally not needed. In fact if anyone is reading this and feels they can't go BR due to the Court aspect then they really need not worry.
I feel a little ashamed of what I did and do have the OR to deal with but the relief I feel now is so great. I feel like a normal person again!
And again a thousand thanks to you all, I have dealt with this totally alone in the "real" world but have really loved the support I have been given in the "cyber" one0 -
really pleased to hear the day went well.....worse bit over now!

Yet another question please guys
I went bankrupt last Wednesday, now my JSA was paid that day into my Bank Account ( I completly forgot this in the panic). After I called the DWP up I was told it has already gone in. Can I take this money from the account ( to live on only?)
I think it forms part of the estate so don't want to touch it if I don't have rights to it
OR interview next Wednesday so will know for sure then0
