    Christina,

I'd hold on until you hear back from the buyer otherwise you'll end up out of pocket if they decide they don't want it.

    Hi all,

Today I got a "dispatch now" message for a DVD I was selling. I packaged it up, took it to the post office and sent it.

Just now, I got a "sale remains pending" message, advising me to hold on to the item for now. Great!

Has anyone else experienced this? How can they tell me it's pending *after* telling me to dispatch? I've only had one pending sale before and that time I got the sale-pending message *before* the dispatch message (as you'd expect).

If worst comes to worst, and the pending payment is ultimately not cleared, will Amazon reimburse me?

    Thanks,

    PPJ.

I would email Amazon & ask for advice

I sold a DVD on amazon last week and posted last monday. But I've just got an email from the purchaser who say's he's not received it. I've got the proof of posting slip. Should I just offer a refund to 'keep the peace'??..
I'm not sure what to do, or how!!

    any thoughts pleaseeeee...

thanks for all your help A/T..i've reimbursed this buyer now.
However, today, he emails me to say the DVD has finally arrived!! How do i now get my money??? any ideas anyone?
    thanks
  • It was good of your buyer to let you know, he could have kept quiet - the only way I can think of to get your money back is to ask him for a cheque, he sounds as if he'd play straight

Ask him to pay again through Amazon? Or could he pay you via Paypal or something if it's easier for you?

  • If he was to 'buy' another item off you via Amazon (and you didn't send it of course!) you'd have the Amazon fees taken off you again...paypals a good idea but if you have a premier account you'll lose a little bit there too.

I've been away and have had my amazon listings on holiday settings, but left my ebay shop up and running with a note about a delay in posting, and have sold three books!

Strangely enough I see there was a question about damaged books on Amazon, one of my ebay sales was for a damaged book (mentioned fully in the listing of course) so it is well worth giving ebay a try.

I have a bit of a problem - I sold a book on Monday night. Was just about to pack it up when I realised it was listed as a HArdback book, whilst it is a paperback. I immediately emailed the buyer and asked if he wanted to cancel the transaction and I would refund him or whether he still wanted the book. I havent heard from him yet and dont know what to do bearing in mind that Amazon states you should dispatch within 2 days ANy help?

Many buyers do not use email so they may not know you are trying to contact them. You have their surname and post code so enter the details here:

and see if they can be contacted by phone.

Would it be better to save it till Sept/Oct when people are due to start the next OU courses.

Becky I think that the OU have a different academic year to conventional unis. From memory certainly some courses start in January tho things may have changed now - might be worth checking if you are going to aim at this market?

    Good luck
