One other thing that has just occured to me, by second hand do you mean 'old'? Amazon require books to be listed with them via an isbn number and not having an isbn could mean there are no listings. I have sold a couple of pre 1950s books on Ebay but they weren't easy to sell.

If you mean second hand as in past 20 years or so then you should be OK with listing them.

I hope that makes sense? If not i'm sure one of the other more experienced Amazon sellers will help. I'm more of an ebay person really.

1st or 2nd class standard mail covers up to £32 of loss, just make sure you get a certificate of posting at the Post office which will be free.

YvonneCrossland - if you get the buyer to buy another of your items (make sure it is the same type of item ie book as the postage is different) for the same amount and not send it (Make sure you relist!) that should cover the cost. You will only have to pay the Amazon fees for the second time because when you refunded the first time you were not charged the fees.
    I hope this helps!

I'm am so angry at myself, I have just realised that I sent out the wrong book to someone yesterday. Luckily I have noticed my mistake before they did so I can get the right one in the post ASAP. I am gutted as its going to cost me about £5 to post the book, I shouldn't have listed the book in the first place as I only made about 30p, now make that minus £5 profit.

I've just sold 'Baby and Child Vegetarian Recipes: Over 150 Healthy and Delicious Dishes for Your Young Family
Carol Timperley, Stephen May (Illustrator)' for £10.99. This was a used book, its only £10.99 new but Amazon is out of stock of it. Worth watching out for this one at carboots, its similar to the Annabel Karmel books.

I don't really want to say I told you so....but these whinges always work within a day or two.

I forgot to say that you have to make sure that your book has more to offer than the other dozen that are all in the same condition and at the same price etc by offering something like international shipping (PLEASE check the weights first), same day dispatch or 1st class post - anything to make your item sound better than anyone elses.
