I'm pleased as I have had £29 worth of sales in under two weeks. I know its not a huge profit but for things that were gathering dust its not bad.

I get really annoyed though when people keep reducing their prices drastically to undercut everyone else. It just brings down the value of everything.

Wow, I've just discovered a book I thought would be worthless (it weighs a lot! I'm not looking forward to taking it to the post office!) is actually going for £20!

How do you know its worth £ 20? If its an out of date academic book or similar computer book then it is worthless.

The fact that a book is listed on Amazon for a given price means nothing unless it sells! There are thousands of books listed on Amazon for silly money and they will never ever sell.

Well, there's a few of it listed, and it is a fairly new book. The only reason I thought it was worthless was because of the weight, it is like new and perfect.

Several people have asked about this recently so I thought I would let you know what I have just found. Apparently you can list items that amazon do not sell if you are a pro-merchant seller, this is cut/pasted directly from amazons page about pro-merchants:

"Items that do not currently exist on Amazon.co.uk can be added to the catalogue.

For books please contact Nielsen Book Data. Nielsen Book Data provide bibliographic data to a large number of booksellers, publishers and libraries including Amazon. To find out how to submit your book click here. Information must be submitted by the publisher and the owner of the ISBN prefix. Or click here to submit a question by e-mail.

For music, DVD and video products, please contact REDMuze. Like Nielsen Book Data, REDMuze provide product data to a wide range of retailers of which Amazon is one. Click here to find out more about submitting your information to REDMuze. To submit release details via e-mail click here. REDMuze manage information for products generally available within the UK.

To add products in any other category, each item will require a manufacturer's barcode--12 digit UPC or 13 digit EAN. If you have bar-coded products, our business development team are available on +44-208 636 9252 Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm GMT to discuss your needs."

    Hope that helps

    Hmmm..... what do i do?

I sold a brand new, sealed webcam. Then I had an email from the buyer to say that it will not be recognised on her pc. She says that as the pc is new and has the latest software that the webcam must be faulty. She wants a refund.

    What shoud I do?

It's been established before that under Amazon Marketplace rules, buyers are entitled to a full refund for any reason! So long as the buyer returns the item to you, you are obliged to refund the full amount.

Doesn't seem very fair to the seller, unfortunately. :(
