Almost all my prices are the lowest, I really don't know what else I can do....
I think it is slow at the moment sara, I have 200+ items sold and it has been nearly two weeks since I had a sale.
I did sell another greenmetropolis one yesterday though, so at least it is all going, albeit slowly.

sara - are you making your description and offering a service better than anyone elses?
I always offer same day dispatch with 1st class post and I think that this has served me well. When I've sold a book I sometimes check back to see what the buyer has had to choose from and often there are cheaper books than mine that sound to be in the same condition but because they know that I can get them out and delivered quickly I've beaten the opposition - it's just a thought.....0 -
It's all swings and roundabouts. In the last month I've sold nearly £100 worth of books. For a month before that I barely sold a thing. Hope I haven't jinxed myself now!0

Confession time - I sent the wrong book to someone! They were very similar in look and title. Luckily she seems to be ok about it!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Oh dear! it's easily done -I know exactly how you feel about this, I sent the wrong ebayed teapot to australia and their teapot to a buyer in the uk - it cost me £50 to get both teapots back to me and send them off again, now, does that make you feel any better?

It does AT. Her email though had me worried as she said "I ordered xxxxx and you have sent me a secondhand 1987 edition of xxxxx - do you have the correct book, if so please send it to me, and I will return this one to you"....the thing that has me worried is the second hand book thing......surely she knows the books are second hand???? I emailed her to ask if she knew that the book would be second hand and to reply before tomorrow......not heard from her.....oh why am I such a worry wart??????
The odd thing is in the mix up I noticed a name inside cover of the wrong book I sent her and to compensate I sent some stamps, as I had not mentioned it in the listing. How wierd now as she can use the stamps to return it! Hope this all makes senseGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

An update on the above matter. The buyer emailed me and said it was fine about the mix up, and to send the other book, although she did have to say £23.00 seemed a lot of money for a second hand book!!!!!!!!!!! Now there were new ones on there which were more expensive and mine was the lowest priced one - why did she choose to buy it then?????
My book was listed in the used section and said it was good but showed minor signs of use. The book ranges from £23.00 mine the lowest up to about £75, and some UK sellers are selling for £60! If she had wanted a new copy she could have got one for £1.35-1.99 more, though some were in US???
I'm mad. Hope she does not turn out to be trouble.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Oh dear she does sound like trouble. Sounds like she doesn't understand what marketplace is about.
Have you replied? Think I'd be inclined to point out that marketplace is for selling both new and secondhand items and that your item was clearly described as used. I'd also point out that if she compares the price of your item with other UK based sellers' items, she can see that a new one would cost double.
She sounds like the sort of person who will mention it in her feedback, but for a £23 sale, probably worth itAnyway, you might be able to get Amazon to remove it for being unfair. At least you can respond to the feedback now and put a comment to reflect that the buyer didn't understand how marketplace works.

Any suggestions as to what I can do with books written in Arabic? I can't bring myself to just add them to the recycling as they appear brand new, but I can't see them going on ebay or Amazon, and none of my local charity shops will take foreign books.
