Did you give the buyer the £ 2.75 back he paid for postage?? :rotfl:

Ive heard of similar instances where the buyer has left bad feedback.

I wouldn't worry too much 110 Frankie - sounds like a wind up to me on the part of Amazombie??????? Having looked at other people's feedback [having none myself only sold 4 items] it looks like some buyers are just reluctant to give 5 out of 5 despite saying things like 'the service is excellent'... 'great book'.....'speedy service' .... etc etc. Seems a bit weird to me to give very good writteen feedback but to then give less than the top mark.

I have had three 4/5 for "excellent service, top item, good seller" blah blah.
I wonder if that was their original feedback and instead of using new words, it is easier to just use the default that comes in the box?????

either that or they are teachers!!! (Cant quite bring themselves to give a top mark).

PS For the first time I actually saw some bubble wrap in a supermarket in some empty boxes. It was at Morrisons under the grapes. Not in any other of the products though, keep an eye out for it. My ds just could not understand why I was so excited by bubble wrap!!!!!:D

I feel like a 'hunter gatherer' when I see bundles of bubble wrap in the waste cages at Tesco, I swear my heart starts to beat a little faster...

    Just a straightforward question:

When the 60 days is up are you automatically prompted to relist your items and how is it done?

I haven't been doing this long (obviously!) but I initially listed loads of stuff and done quite well, better than I expected. I've gradually added more stuff so I now keep about 100 items available. The aim is to run out of things to sell!!! I've probably got another 100 or so items to put on before it comes to a natural end.

LOL - I know what you mean Soolin, but even though I knew they would throw it away - I behaved like a shoplifter, shiftily looking to the left and right before hastily shoving it in my bag!:)

right after not a great deal of movement in my greenmetropolis account, Ive decided to biye the bullets & go for amazon for my book selling.

Ive had a good nose around the amazon threads on here already, but just wondering DFW - how do you price stuff to get it shifted?

I have 3 big boxes of books here, and I need to get rid of them ASAP, just dont have the space.

So, what are your books worth and give examples of what you sold & how much might help guide me a bit

    Cheers gang x

    Hi lynz.

When you list your book, it tells you how much the lowest priced book is...it is then up to you if you want to undercut massively or keep it about the same (I do the latter to be honest otherwise we all end up making no money!).

It also tells you how many of that book are up for sale. Sometimes there are LOADS and they are all on there for 1p. What's the point in that? You'll never make any money that way - those books I either give to charity or save for the next car boot sale.

Remember they only give you a postal credit of about £1 and they take their sale fee/VAT and all that (have a good read of the terms) so sometimes you only come away with a couple of quid or so. But that's better than nothing.

I've had moderate success with the site and will perservere. You can also sell CD's for a fixed price too on there - I've had better success with those.

    HTH. Good luck. x

Here is a thread you may be interested in, don't be put off by the length, read the first post and go from there.

Amazon give £2.75 for postage although they take fees from everything! They do advise when you list what the fees will be and how much you will get. Strong advise is to weigh the book before selecting a price to sell out to make sure you cover the costs.

Good luck - there's a whole heap of addicted amazon sellers!!!
