Thanks
Current textbooks, some children's books and non-fiction tend to be more profitable than popular fiction (because they are so popular!).
Obviously current bestsellers sell very quickly but their prices drop very very quickly. A book can be selling at £2 - £3 one week and be down to a penny the next as people try to undercut each other.
Good luck, Tibbie's Mum. It's a great hobby and should hopefully earn you a bit of extra money too.0 -
Many thanks jo_b, I think I'll give it a go!0

Do you generally drop your prices when you see that yours is no longer the cheapest item?Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0

I had a thought today, that AT is the Amazon mother hen, and we are all her Amazon baby chicks!:)
I have had eight sales this week and they are all from the bag that lovely friend gave me. One tonight sold for £23.00, but that is before fees and postage of course. I think I will give her some money say about £40 when the money tots up and she can have a meal with her hubby - I know she is not well off at the moment and sometimes it is good to share your fortune, don't you think? This is what my conscience is telling me anyway- I will just put it through her door one day in a card and it will be a nice surprise.

dormouse, I knew that you'd get there, well done on your first sale! take a number if you want to! :j
Larmy, I think that you're right about sharing with your pal, the thing is she may have given you all of her books, but if she ever gets any more given to her she may pass them on to you knowing that you can do something with them.

Welcome to the club dawn2dusk. :hello:
It's a little known rule of the Amazon club that as part of your initiation you have to help out a fellow member. Your mission is to find my husband a ticket to the Cup Final that is going begging!!!!
I persuaded him to give up his West Ham season ticket this year to spend more time with the family (after he's been a holder for 20 years) and now he can't get a ticket to the final. I'm not very popular at the moment as I expect you can imagine!!!0 -

AT's advice is to MATCH the price rather than undercut:D ...you can easily bring a book down to a penny by starting an undercutting battle and then EVERYONE loses out:mad:Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
Having read the seller junction thingy on Amazon it seems some of the big sellers have automatic software that immediately matches the price of the lowest book. Therefore doing as AT suggests and matching the lowest bid is much better than undercutting the lowest bid as the software would just reduce their book accordingly.
