chelltune wrote:Many thanks. Are second handy jiffy bags acceptable to use?
Well done chell - feels great doesn't it :j I think that Amazon would specify new packing but if you've been caught out with your first sale then it's better than nothing. If you look at the first post there are a few ideas of where to get hold of cheapy jiffy bags

Thanks for your help. I'll try Poundland for Jiffys tomorrow as they used to sell them.
I have just had my second sale. I only joined on Monday, these items were listed yesterday. I'm shocked. I was debating whether to sell my CD collection as its in the loft. I felt a bit sentimental about it but seeing how things sell I may be persuaded!Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
Where's Amazobie when you need them? They know the returns policy inside out. I'm sure they will be along soon.0

vip_bargain wrote:Thanks guys. I just checked and I do have the Post Office receipt. I sent it standard parcels at a cost of £7.70, the item weighed 2.6kg. It was in its original packaging which contained those white polysterne blocks (I forgot the proper name). I also wrapped the box in a couple layers of bubble wrap. I suppose it could still have got damaged in the post as you never know how parcels are treated but I was surprised. I didn't have any extra inusrance.
So from what you guys are saying. I should message the buyer explaining I will give a full refund including the set
delivery fee charged by amazon only after they have returned the goods in their original packing.
What happens if the buyers says I should reimburse them the costs of sending the item back? Do I have to pay for that too? I'm gonna be totally out of pocket.
Think I'm going to stick to just selling books on Amazon in the future.
Here's some more amazon info on returns, this time from a buyers perpective0 -
Thanks all for your advice. I will have a read through those links apprentice tycoon. You have no respect for logic...and I have no respect for those with no respect for logic0

I have used second hand jiffy bags, but I wrap them in new plastic wrap (Morrisons garden bags 10 or 12 for 1.69. This keeps the parcel respectable looking but as light as possible. No complaints as yet!!!!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

That's probably why the 4/5, if a buyer had their last delivery in a brand spanking new jiffy they might make comparisons. Having said that which is more use to you, the money that you save on a new jiffy bag or an extra point on your feedback...you can't spend feedback points!0 -
I once ran out of Jiffy bags, but I'd just ordered something from Amazon, so I sent my item in the Amazon packaging!Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

I doubt that was it AT as I have only used (used) Jiffys on v. rare occasions. My packing is usually that foamy underlay stuff and either the new plastic wrap, or brown paper, which I think is the equivalent of a jiffy bag. They look very smart with their printed labels and yes I agree, I would rather save the jiffy bag money - I cannot get jiffys cheaper than 25p each around here. My sis tracked some down in a Poundland but it was in Brighton.:( - I bought £10 worth - they were 8 for a pound! Not very economical to drive there for them!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
