It's ok now I think I've found it!

Edit: I can't see how to change the setting for an idividual item.

I don't think it's worth it. There's other sellers for this item who are prepared to send internationally. If i get another email from her, I think I'll suggest this as an option.

The easiest way to do this would be to cancel the listing then relist it with international as an option

I have sold 4 books already and am well pleased! The hazard of selling is of course needing to buy new books so off I went to browse. I found a book to buy and went through the process, my order was accepted. I then received this message from Amazon

We have been unable to complete your purchase from Mrs xxxx xxxx . Your order contained the following items:

    Bok title was here....

You have not been charged for the attempted purchase. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

I emailed their CS and asked what this meant and got a reply saying "We are sorry to hear about the error you have encountered when trying use Amazon Marketplace.

We are aware of this issue, and our developers are working on a resolution. Often these errors are corrected after only a short time,
so please try again in a while.

As any order you may have placed would be with a third-party vendor, we would be unable to cancel or modify it, and you should contact your seller directly.

Now I may be getting on a bit but that didn't help one bit....anyone have any idea what is going on???? I really wanted that book :O(

Hi I have a book which sold on Amazon over the weekend. Now its all packed I have discovered its going to cost double Amazon's allowance to post! (My fault I know, should have checked before listing.....)
is there anything I can do, or do I just post off and shut up?

    thanks
    Stop looking for answers....
The most you can hope for are clues.....:)
  • Claudie, I have no idea what this is - I'd just keep trying to buy the book until it either goes through or you get fed up with it!

ksh123, I'm sorry, that's the way it is, you need to weigh them for a while until eventually you get to know by sight and feel which are the books that will cost you more than the allowance, you then make sure that the selling price has a bit extra in to cover this excess weight.

You do see some nutcases with really heavy books at silly prices, even less than a pound and they are going to have a nasty shock if they are unlucky enough to sell the book - I email them sometimes when I see them
  • Still no sales & I have reduced some of my prices too!

Hi Yvonne (that was my Mums name) how many items do you have for sale? and roughly how many on average do you sell per week?

I have around 500 items and sell around 10 per week, it would be very interesting for some of us to give a rough idea what the percentage of sales per size of stock is on this thread so we can reassure newbies that their selling rate is about right in proportion to their stock.
Using my rate as an example someone with a stock of 50 items and sales of 1 per week is going at the same rate as me.
It quite enlightening when you read the seller connections forum on Amazon and see posts where they are having a bit of a moan because they've only sold 5 or 6 items today - it's all about scale.

Anyone else happy to say what their sales percentage is?
