Some books are collectable, so the'd only want good copies. Or if it's a children's book it's liable to scribbling etc.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

If the American listings are more expensive than yours I'd still raise it, an interested UK buyer would much sooner buy from the UK than one that they will end up paying Customs duty and a higher delivery charge for.0 -
Hi AT
Thanks to your fantastic advice I've sold over £80 (less fees and postage) in my first month on Amazon. A great help with my debts, thanks.
I've one book which is apparently quite valuable as on Bookfinder and Amazon prices start at about £55 and go up to silly prices so I put mine on as £54.97. There is also a buyer waiting and this has an average price of £12 (was £10 yesterday).
Not really sure what this means or what I should do, any advice?
Thanks, Clare0 -
I managed to get my hands on a big pile of America special interest books (Christianity). Most of them were only available from America so i priced mine a little higher than the American price to aim at the UK market that didn't want to wait for a book or pay the extra shipping from the States. They have sold very well!0

If the book looks so valuable on bookfinder then I'd use that as your guide to the price you set on it, don't forget you can always come down later but if you sell to the 'buyer waiting' person for £12 you might be selling yourself short, it could be that the buyer waiting is another seller fishing around to get hold of valuable books in order to sell them higher themselves0 -

I never thought of that! I'm going to hang on in there. Thanks again for the advice!0 -

I can't claim this as my idea - I saw it mentioned on the amazon seller connections board so I know that some sellers put sought after books on buyer waiting and see if they get a bite.0 -
Someone asked about sales versus feedback I have 93 feedback and 290 sales since last Sept.
Been a bit quiet around here of late mind you I am going for quality more than quantity nowadays.
I am on hols in May for 2 weeks so will have to put the holiday settings on,I am a pro merchant dont really want to cancel so will have to bear the brunt of not covering this in May.0 -
I put another 30 books on Amazon today and sold a book yesterday and this morning after no sales for four days.
I have a book whre I am the only seller on amazon and on bookfinder. Should I mark up the price?"This site is addictive!"
