Soo - those are good results for ebay, I posted a couple of weeks ago that I'd got a few books in my ebay shop but was really put off in a major way by having to describe not just the condtion the book (the way you would on Amazon) but the contents of the book as well particulary if it was a book that I would never read myself and have no interest in at all.
So - 2 questions - do you select the books for ebay that are self explanitory, like the latest novel by xxxxxxxxx or if you write about book and 'sell' it, how much do you write?0 -

I do select my ebay books carefully, either popular ones like CS Lewis which need no explanation, or obscure ones like old OHMS books that need just the briefest of explanations as people looking for them know what they are.
I write very little about my books except for condition, which I often cut and paste from my Amazon listing anyway. When you remember that to buy your books on Amazon someone has to search for it by title, that's all you really need to do on Ebay, make sure the title is shown in the format it will be looked for ie CS Lewis Narnia or Observor book of wading birds. I list some as auctions but with a huge ad for my ebay shop (ebay give suggestions for layout of adverts) and if I am selling say a war book, I would make sure i have several others listed in the shop so even if they don't see it when they browse I can under ebay rules put a tag line on my email to the winning bidder pointing out that I have more from the set, or about that period of war in my ebay shop.
I scan the books to get the photo and that often helps to show any inperfections as well.

I have around 500 items and sell around 10 per week, it would be very interesting for some of us to give a rough idea what the percentage of sales per size of stock is on this thread so we can reassure newbies that their selling rate is about right in proportion to their stock.
Using my rate as an example someone with a stock of 50 items and sales of 1 per week is going at the same rate as me.
It quite enlightening when you read the seller connections forum on Amazon and see posts where they are having a bit of a moan because they've only sold 5 or 6 items today - it's all about scale.
Anyone else happy to say what their sales percentage is?
I currently have 131 listed, all of which are my own items (I.E not bought to sell on) mainly DD's Disney video collection & most of my bookcase of various books. I have sold the grand total of NINE since I started on 20th March.

Hi
I have a book listed on Amazon - for £3.99 - the highest priced one is £20. I was quite happy with £3.99 until now.......
I have had an email asking whether the pages are clean and whether there are any missing pages. So I am now starting to wonder if it is worth more than I have listed it for.
Can anyone help to find a web site to check the value of this book please
Also if it worth more then would it be ok for me to increase the price?
Thanks0 -
Hi Christina...sounds exciting! go to www.bookfinder.com and see if you can find your book there, if it's more valuable than you thought it was go and edit it NOW!!!0

Have been to have a look and it would appear that most of the listings are American. So i am still confused. Why would someone ask about the pages if it wasnt valuable?0
