Sadly wingeing hasn't worked as still not sold anything. Decided to put a few CDs on 2 try them. What do people use for packaging to send them out? Maybe I'm being cynical but what's to stop buyers copying them then asking for a refund? Anyone had any probs like that?

I use normal jiffy bags, I have some large ones which will fold over and tape, giving a double thickness. 50p postage is very nice...
BTW anyone who hasn't got a tape gun, get one. Worth their weight in gold.
I've sold some cds this week. I know music is subjective but I have to feel a bit sorry for folks who pay a fair bit of money for music that I don't want in my house :-)0 -
Hi teapot, I'm sorry that you haven't got going yet.
Can I ask if you've gone back to look at your listings this week? you may have been undercut by another seller, if you look at your list of open listings you can look down it to see if your book is the lowest priced - but that's not the whole story - your book may be the lowest price in that particular condition category but there may be a lower priced one with a different condition to yours so there really isn't any choice but to click on each book and see what you find out.
Undercutting isn't the wisest action because the person you undercut will see his 'lowest price' banner go from his open list and the knee jerk reaction is to chase you and undercut you, then you do it back to him and so on till it gets silly. So if you have been undercut just match his price then no alarm bells will ring.
Also while your on your page see if you can make your description better, you've got 1000 character space to use so you can get a lot in but put your best words at the start because to see more than the first line the buyer has to click on to your book, so make the first line your most interesting bit.
Do you sell overseas? light paperbacks will be covered with the extra payment that you'll be given, see here, you might attract more buyers that way - go very carefully and weigh the books that you are going to offer overseas. There is a royal mail link in the first post for you to check on the airmail rates - look under the printed paper section.
Good luck and fingers crossed!
just come back to say that those of us that seem to be talking about sales every day have a lot of books, I have almost 500 for sale and I usually sell about 10 books per week so if you only have say, 50 books then if you sold one per week then you'd be in line with me, it's all about proportion and patience I'm afraid - I regularly sell books that I've had for sale for over 1 or 2 years and I have to monitor the prices regularly, I'm doing 50 a day before breakfast this week, it's paid off because 3 that I've sold this week were ones that needed adjusting.0 -
Blimey I thought the Easter weekend was quiet - although I did expect it to be for some reason.
But since then I've sold absolutely nothing - despite listing 25 new books from my marvellous In-Laws!
Whinge over - I now expect orders to flood in!!!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0 -
Thanks AT I will look again at the listings when I get back from work or over the w/e. I guess I got a bit fed up 'cos I keep seeing post about people putting a book on and it goes within an hour..... I've just got to be a bit more patient and keep adding to the number of books. It will happen

We have a longish and constantly monitored Amazon list, and this is the deadest fortnight we've ever had.0

For sending Cds I keep the packing from people I buy from like Cd ~Wow and Amazon and then recycle it.
I don't list huge amounts on Amazon either but I do still sell some and its always a nice surprise when I do - funnily enough it always seems to coinicide with posting additions to my list. I sold two on Tuesday after posting some on Monday!Stop looking for answers....
The most you can hope for are clues.....:)0 -
Got my 2 weekly payment this week...wait for it....£250!! Yipee! :j Am very happy right now.
Sold 3 books yesterday and 1 today so far... I have about 250 listed although I have a lot of duplicates so its more like 500 books but 250 different books.
I took my profits and bought another pallet...2000 books!!! It's a bit of a risk, but only cost me £250 (including delivery), I think the guy did himself a disservice by letting his listing end thursday night at 11:30pm, so I wanted to take advantage of that, guarantee it would have gone for triple that if it ended sunday afternoon. So my plan is to firstly clear out the garage and then once they arrive I will sort out all the bad books, I am expecting about 1000 to be unsellable on amazon - best be realistic, and those I will sell progressively at boot sales each weekend. Since I have paid 12p per book, there is still profit to be made at bootsales, even if they are sold for 50p each thats still a big mark-up. So thats my plan, scarey and risky I know, but since I am just using my profits to fund it I am seeing it as an investment. Plus I love books, I love reading books so having tonnes of books around that I can read is just fab!
Think how long its gonna take to list all those...
I bought one of those barcode scanners that AT mentioned and it doesn't work!! Contacted guy for help and it still didn't work, gonna contact him again because inventorying them will take about 5 years without one.
Welcome to all the newbie amazonians, congrats to those who have sold and hang in there for those who haven't.
