Good thought so just looked it up by author rather than ISBN and there's a 5th ed. [mine is 3rd] and it's now authored by only one of the original three writers who did my version. Guess what - the newest edition is £14 so how mad is it that 2 folk are trying to sell an old edition for £70??? I think I might list it for a tenner or so just to see if it goes. Thanks for your help, it's been great reading all the advice from everyone - just really really want to sell something, anything to get that buzz I keep reading about :D By the way, can you list the same stuff on ebay and Amazon simultaneously or does that cause probs?
  • You're right, those books will never sell for £70 if there is a newer one. It's OK to have your book listed in both places so long as you do the obvious thing about cancelling the listing when it sells in the other place.

Keep the faith, you'll get your 'I'm an Amazonian' badge soon
  • I've sold a few books on Amazon with limited success (ie I still have loads listed that have been relisted several times) and thought I'd try my luck with CDs. So I posted one this afternoon to test the water and it's just sold! Had a bit of a frantic dash round the house looking for cardboard boxes to cut up for stiffeners but hey, I'm not complaining :-)

I do but with certain conditions. I only list on both when I know I am going to be around a lot to pull it from Amazon should i get a bid in on ebay. I also never list as a BIN on ebay while it is also listed on Amazon, just in case I sell it twice.

If i get watchers on ebay I tend to pull the Amazon listing just in case as well, but if the book is then unsold on ebay just relist on Amazon.

    Does that make sense?

    Soo

I still only got 1 feedback so I wouldn't worry too much about it yet.

it's just that being in there as a "new seller" next to people with 94 per cent and five stars makes me wonder if their book will sell first - even tho I'm usually cheaper.
  • frankie, I know what you mean, I don't usually chase feedback but I think you could ask one of your buyers to get you off the 'I'm a newboy' (or is it newbie ;) )

I like to think that people chose me when I was a "new seller" cause I was innocent!! Got my first feed back though, not it just looks like I've sold 1 book and maybe dodgy ;)

  • Well I never heard back from Amazon about my Pending sale so I've now relisted it, hope I get some more sales soon as I've not sold anything for over a week now (not inc the pending sale)

Got a book by Vernon Coleman (Google him, what a weirdo) today that is not on Amazon or ebay - where the heck do I sell it then?
I have another couple that are not yet published but they are up on Amazon for pre-order, I'll just wait until they are published.
  • I remember him, he used to be on the TV about 20 years ago, if it won't go on amazon then you don't really have a lot of choice, it's either ebay or keep it till amazon stocks it in the future - hopefully
