Thanks for that rog2. I have researched into IVA's both on here and other sources and I agree that there are many risks involved. I can't see it working for me, on my income, the worry of keeping up payments etc. I would be very close to the edge of it turning sour I think. Especially as I have the option for BR now, I don't fancy paying so much into it only to go BR in a couple of years time if my circumstances change.

I doubt I would have a case if it got to that stage but I am just happy to have options presented to me still, the feeling is ever so slightly less claustrophobic!

Just opened a 'bad' letter from Westcot. Threats a plenty, BIG RED CAPITAL LETTERS, you have til 28th July, collectors may come round etc...

    All for £23.68

As tempted as I am to write back telling them that I have bigger salmon to grill (put 6lbs on since June so am in 'lighter options' mode) it is my own silly fault as it's a DD that I forgot about that used to come out of the business account. My colour-coded organisation didn't help on this one, it fell through my technicolour net! :o

I can pay it (just!) but I have Wescot dealing with another, much larger creditor than this one. Not sure whether settling this one will look as though I can settle the others and look bad against my current £1 offer to everyone else. But it is so tempting to clear it as it is so small.

That's WESCOTT for you, Rainy.

Don't even give it a second thought - they are most unlikely to send a 'doorstep collector' and even if they did, that person would have no rights whatsoever, nor would you have any obligation to discuss the debt with him/her.

Well, the interview was a mixed bag to say the least!

I forgot that I needed to take ID with me (proof of British Citizenship/right to work in UK) so it didn't get off to the best of starts! As a previous employer myself I know that if I had a list of candidates of roughly the same calibre, I would lose the forgetful one straight away!

The assessment was much harder than I anticipated, but muddled through it. The interview I thought went well, answered the questions well, didn't drone on too much, proved I am more than capable do do the job. It was very much a conveyor belt though, they had A LOT of candidates.

After looking around and learning a bit about the role, I'm not sure it will be one that I relish :o but beggers can't be choosers :rotfl: They are making the decision today so I should hear before the end of the week.

But I am off to an open evening tonight for a temp role in a place I am dying to work at (my dad worked there for nearly 40 years and looked after him well. Plus uber uber discounts off many many things I can't live without!:D) Just a temp role there for a few months will put me in a much better position than I'm in now. Won't have to drive 60 miles everyday for a start!

Plus had the jobs section in yesterdays paper with a few roles with promise so I'll be getting on with those this afternoon!

The other aspects to yesterday (and the reasons for my scatter brain in forgetting my ID) were a mixed bag too!

Poor cat. Bacterial eye infection (more eye drops...absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to get them anywhere near his eyes), absess on foot popped and drained (ew) and loss of manhood(!) all in one day. Poor thing. And poor wallet! But paid for by my stonking month of Ebaying :D

But the good news...Car PASSED MOT! First time I've ever had a car that has passed! Woohoo!

New 'bad' letters through. One 'Notice of Intended Litigation' No reference to any of my attempts to settle into a payment plan or even a nod to the fact that I have attempted correspondence with them

Another Debt recovery letter for the energy bill at my old business premises. Again completely ignoring the correspondence I have sent them and actually stating "You have returned mail even though you are contactable at the above address" Which I have never done

Good luck with the continued job hunting - the temp job sounds just the ticket! And excellent news on the car passing the MOT.

As for the other stuff.....pants pants pants. But about par for the course - standard letters sent out by people who think you will be intimidated by them.....well, they obviously haven't met a DFW'er yet :D

Stay strong, and send everything recorded delivery if you have not been doing so already, so they cannot deny having received your correspondence.
