Only Dull Girls Write Diaries...Myth Broken!

A DMP is what I really want to do and have been aiming for that since the beginning of being in trouble, it was just that this stat demand came out from the blue and shocked me into thinking about the BR option. Which I suppose was their tactic so I'm not admitting that that's what it did to me!
All extra income avenues are being starting to be explored! Letting a room would be a great source of income, my house is TINY but does have a spare room (although it is the dumping ground for my left over stock from the business but that is slowly shifting via ebay!) I'm on the £10 a day thread next...!Pround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Feeling slightly refreshed after cheap n chic weekend at the seaside so I have decided to only share good news in my diary today!
Sainsbury's CC have accepted my token £1 monthly payment as an informal agreement for 3 months :T
The extremely troublesome AA Loan took my last letter as a letter of complaint (which I suppose in a way it was but I didn't intend it to be, I just pointed out the facts of how many times I have written to them in order to sort something out and they have pretty much ignored me!!) so I had a grovelling letter of apology from them and they have now accepted my £1 token monthly payment for 2 months. I really did not see that one coming at all! :T
My Ebay total is astounding for me! And I've not stuck to my intent of putting 5 items on per day (I really do have THAT MUCH stuff to go on there!) :T
I found out today that my Gas and Elec account is £210 IN CREDIT. I called to get it back but they said that the bill isn't due until 17th July so it will go down but there is no way I have spent over £200 in a quarter. So I will be negotiating as soon as the balance comes through on that! :T
Plus...I have an interview for a job on the 22nd. A job I can do and have experience in so fingers, toes and eyes crossed for then! :TPround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Well done Rainy!!! What a lovely post to read! I had just popped on for a quick lurk and reading that has energised me. Good luck for the job interview..... think up any tricky questions they might ask and practise devastating answers!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

See - you were drained of energy because of all this last week. Now things are looking much sunnier and therefore much more manageable and positive :T:T:T
Here's to many more sunny bits!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Delved back into the depths of dispair yesterday - so annoying after a good news day on Monday! But as we know, this debt business is one huge rollercoaster!
As I was feeling quite negative yesterday I didn't do the diary as I want this to be my little bit of light at the end of the tunnel, even when living in said tunnel is getting me down!
A flurry of 'bad' letters yesterday. My business overdrafts with Lloyds have now been passed over to Wescot, whose letters just look terrifying, nevermind what they actually say. A letter from Lloyds to tell me that my offer of payment is unnacceptable and that they are passing the debt on to dear old Westcot. A+L chasing overdraft on old current account (which, as I have pointed out to them, is made up of their charges and not actually my spending) Mercers chasing for Barclaycard (who STILL haven't responded to any of my letters) :wall:
So this morning, fed up of feeling fed up, I got all motivated and fired back replies left right and centre. Feel good for having the control back with me, allbeit for a small time I'm sure!
Got through to the nice folk at CCCS who interestingly thought that an IVA might work for me. I was always under the impression that I didn't really earn enough to guarantee a payment agreement against my large number of creditors. Not sure that it will be right for me but just nice to hear another option. Next stop: MSE IVA Board...
I also put another 13 items on ebay and discussed with OH about selling my car and us sharing the costs of a joint car (he got v excited actually as I said he could have a big say in what replaces it...not sure what I've let myself into there ) However not quite sure how that will look if I do go BR, I think I have to prove that the profit went towards clearing debts or the fees? Which it would do so I guess that shouldn't be a problem?Pround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

From what I understand (although I've not been down this route so don't know!) - once something gets passed to a debt collector, it is actually far easier to negotiate than with the original creditor.
So it may actually be a very positive thing that your stuff is being passed over so quickly?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Ooh, also booked car in for MOT next week so hopefully no major works needed and only taxing for 6 months as I'll hopefully be selling him (it's a him, name of Mario
)
So that saves me a good chunk of my Ebay money. Now, I want to pay bits of that chunk to the CC's but I have just got them all (except Barclaycard!) to accept a £1 token payment for a couple of months. Am I best to wait until that period is over before paying more? I don't want them to think that I can pay more off than I can and take away the £1 agreement. Any thoughts greatly appreciatedPround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

I think there may some truth in that. Actually in the letter from Lloyds, they said that they couldn't accept my low payment nor freeze interest but the collectors may be able to. From the little I know, they buy the debt for much lower that it actually is and so in theory be a little easier to negotiate with.
Thanks for pointing out a silver lining! :APround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Keep up on the positive thinking! Miracles can happen...
Letter from Lloyds (re personal loan) After many a firm letter along the lines of "don't be ridiculous with your £1 token offer, we throw it back at you with speed before we catch your poverty" They have now accepted my offer, not for 1 month, or even 3 months...but 6 months!! After a lot of no's they have turned into the most generous.Hmm. Am wondering whether the Lloyds CC will follow suit...obviously the business overdrafts haven't being with Westcot now but it is a small step closer :T
No word back from the creditors solicitor re: stat demand yet, I realise that they don't need to reply, they may go straight to BR petition. I have empty bank account and Paypal account just in case they find out before I do!
My list to be completed by Monday morning...(writing it on here so I can't escape it!)
1. List 34 items on Ebay I have pics for
2. Take pics of more Ebay items to sell
3. Sort overflowing Debt Folder into smaller, more managable ones
4. Clear backroom so I can see the floor again
5. Take garden rubbish to the tip so I can see the grass again
6. Finish painting the living room
7. Put together basic mini brochure to start selling my crafty wares again
No 'normal' chores included in the above list, would be here all day!Pround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201
