Rufusdog glad to hear your Dad's doing ok.
Mary-Op good luck with hospital trip and have a safe drive back.
Forgot to mention, I had my first "christmas disaster dream" of the year the other day. I get them every year, a few weeks before xmas.
This time - had forgotten to put out the stockings, family came round and I couldn't find the presents, went to cook dinner and I hadn't defrosted the meat or prepped the veg... goes along the same lines every year, I feel terrible at them time lol. I think it's my brain's way of making sure I don't forget anything!
Christmas dinner is going well, haven't left the house today (or got dressed properly!) so managed quite a bit. Made the cheesy leeks (REALLY trying not to eat them before they cool down enough for the freezer) and another batch of stuffing balls (now frozen). A batch of roast potatoes are in the process, and yorkie batter is resting in the fridge so by tonight should have over half of the "preprep" stuff frozen.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Got back from hospital just after 6pm.
Not sure what to make of it all but seems the 'mass of stuff' (whatever it is leftover from an infection) hasn't shrunk any more.........but on plus side hasn't grown either  'Boffin' did much scratching of head etc. and said he'd see OH in 5 weeks time and see if it had shrunk any more all on its own............no more antibiotics. If it hasn't then he'll send him off for further CT scan.............Tried to get out of him what if......? but got blank 'boffin' type expression.....
Then I mentioned OH's leg...............his left one gives him gip sometimes when he's been walking...........so 'boffin' has OH's shoes and socks off (brave man!!) says OH's feet cold and had a job to get a pulse in left one.
If that gets any worse OH will have to see Vascular chappie (think I remembered that right) about circulation/arteries................. (began to with I'd kept mouth firmly zipped !)
Still there doesnt seem to be any 'urgency' so I'm working on that to give me the 'relief' factor.
Oh dear.................have we reached that stage/age in life when our days out are visits to doctors and hospitals ? Lets hope not..............lol
Plus side OH is looking a lot better than he did............missed his afternoon doze for a few days now (best not mention it otherwise he'll suddenly fall asleep..........lol) and isn't getting the pain so often.......he's even talking of going back to work:eek: He polishes old furniture and thinks he can manage the odd small chest of drawers...........remains to be seen. I'd rather he didn't but I can understand he wants a bit of 'normality' back in his life after all this.
Well, tomorrow I'm doing my twig tree..........looking at the bit of twisted willow OH got for me I'm a bit unsure about it but .............well, we can only try................lol:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Its a flying visit, as just had to register my post, been wrapping xmas orezzies since 10am, bar 3 hrs..... still not finished.... dd had her school disco, I was on toilet duty, ( looking a right idiot on a seat outside the loo, apparently if there not checked thegirls spend to long doing their make up... I had no probs, think I scared them off.. one of her teachers popped by, sh'd just come out of the hall, apparently dd was doijng all the moves, and singing, she said she looked she should be on stage, apparently she was word perfect and dance move perfect.
Quick flick through emails to see if anything mega urgent, and there was an email off my old tutor, sending congratulations I'd passed the course......so exicted.
xx

CONGRATULATIONS mum2one!!! So pleased you passed the course you must be delighted, it's definitely well deserved. Hope you have had a little celebration.
Mary-op so glad to hear that your oh is feeling a bit brighter, you two have really been through the mill but I hope that things are starting to look up for you. Blank boffin looks must be confusing, but I'm sure they would have told you if there was anything to worry about. All your decorations sound lovely by the way. I am not really the artistic type and would love some of you ladies to come to my house and make it look lovely!
Had better get to bed now I think. Have been up late doing the first stage of the main Venezuelan dish for xmas dinner. Am hoping it is all as it shoudl be as oh has just gone away for a week for work and I've never made it before. Am following the recipe very carefully! Am banking on banana leaves arriving at our local international grocer - they have ordered them in specially for us but they won't be there until 23rd
Right, off to bed...not many sleeps left now!0 -
Congrautlations M2O!!!!!!!!!!! VERY PROUD OF YOU!!

I got all of my son's christmas presents out last night. I like to look at them all together to check it's enough - and he's got loads!! The best bit about it was a lot of them were free from Tescos using there double up vouchers and more still were from charity shops (new/look new toys though) so I've saved a lot of money. It's such a nice feeling, thanks for all the help to everyone on this thread, you've been real inspirations!
I can't wait to start money saving early for next Christmas. I actually had a dream last night about writing Dooyoo reviews :rotfl:Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Hello all :j
Been snowing today............ causing me minor panic about whether I'll get down to my sons and grandkids this weekend...............oh well, if not, they'll have them at Easter.......................lol:rotfl:
Did my 'twig tree'....................settled on a branch from our dogwood bush -bit stronger I thought. Took me ages to thread the dried orange slices and chillies onto the blessed thing but its done now...............sits in a block of oasis in a terracotta pot and I've filled around it with pebbles and some gold sprayed nuts out of a bowl of pot pourri I'd got.
Made last flannel reindeer.............kept forgetting it but its done now.
And managed to make a door hanger out of some thick card and found enough bits to stick on it for the young lad we used to foster who's calling tomorrow (weather permitting !)
That's me done I think...............how many times have I said that ? -all we need to do now is get to skegness to deliver another foster girls littls boys bits and get OH's specs sorted.
The cushion part that sits on the nose has come off one side so he's using a bit of blue tak..................lol Not as bad last year when it was a paper clip holding them together........................lol:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Ragz and CDSmiler ~ I had SPD with my last 2 pregnancys and feel for you both. You can get those big belts that go under your tummy to hold the bump up a bit so takes some of the pressure off your pelvis. I think your GP may even prescribe them for you. My pelvis wasnt right either until about a year after i gave birth
Well done Mum2One on passing your course. Thats brilliant news :T
It started snowing here at about 6pm last night and has snowed about 2 - 3 inches during the night. Everything looks so pretty all whiteI love snow.
