Wehey, finally knuckled down Tuesday night and managed to write the vast majority of my Christmas cards. Thank goodness that's done! Just got the "special" family cards to do now.

Also sent my friend back up North with pressies for her and her kiddies and wrapped my great aunt's ready to take to Brum at the weekend. Only 5 more pressies left to get. So pleased I've been more organised this year. It's really helping with my stress levels.

Got my mum up next week and plan on making the Christmas Puddings and getting some wrapping done.

I'm feeling very Christmassy today for some reason,. Here's hoping I stay that way!!

mary-op, sorry last night was rough. Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight and that results come through quickly. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you both.

    Sending everyone Christmassy hugs.

    Erm x

    Hello all
OH had better night last night thank goodness so this morning I delved into the spare room for a sort out......didn't get very far........found a dark brown flannel lurking underneath an empty box so made a flannel reindeer out of it............then set to and started to fill up my snowmen jars with choccy snowballs - ran out.............daft me hadn't bought enough:mad:
So mad with myself.................oh well not to worry.........few more things to do now
One of my other foster daughter has been really good offering help of all sorts lately and now she says she's bought me a little cheapy craft set to occupy me in the winter...........we don't normally do 'presents' but I thought I'd do a little christmas eve box for her little boy.........just a few things like reindeer poo, reindeer food, snowman with snowballs, robins christmas breakfast........silly things like that. So, a bit more for my 'to do' list but at least I don't have to buy anything other than the choc. buttons for poo and snowball choccys............already got a spare robins breakfast and reindeer food for my grandson last year was crushed weetabix in a gravy tub with the label on it.
Might cover a little diary for her and do a post it note key ring holder........got some spare key rings and post it notes ..........oh, just remembered .......I got a diary already done thats going spare.............:j
Hopefully should get this all done over the weekend..............:j

Hi all, glad you are getting on well. I am just about to order all my amazon vouchers from survey sites tonight, so hoepfully then can get well on with buying presents. Have just suddenly realised thanks to erm that although I did very well with the challenge for making Christmas card lists, i haven't actually written any! I'll try and get some done over the next week or so.

Really need to get my secret stash out and figure out what I've got - lots of little bits for the boys, but also one or two things for dh, so need him to promise not to look!

purple, I can't believe your DD is getting up for the day at 1.24am:eek: Or is that some kind of fault wiht the forum logging time??? Is she very little?

I wonder if I could ask you all for some tips. I think I am going to make a square around scrapbook for my parents as part of their present (thank you to the thriftygifty blog ladies and rainmac, i found it on there - here's the link http://rainmacsplace.blogspot.com/2009/03/look-what-i-made.html). I am a novice crafter really, do various bits with the kids but nothing very presentable! This looks quite straightforward though, but I will need some nice card and paper, sot this is where I need you! Where is a good place to get cardstock and scrapbook paper? Something that will be nice but not too expensive in case it is a total disaster! I might also make the lovely alphabet book from the blog for my little niece, if I get time.

Mary, so glad you had a better night, and cdsmiler glad your leg is getting better. Two pantos sounds like fun!

Made 2 christmas cards this afternoon from the forever friends pack I have (will have a ton of stuff left over!) They were lovely and easy to make for my 2 elderly relatives

3 left to make now for close family - will have a go at another one later on

Not feeling very christmassy for some reason - maybe in a couple of weeks will do more so

Also ordered 2 deals of the day from ebay for the pen and pencil gift set (one for me I think and one for Mum's birthday next year) and the last bits of brother car care hamper arrived safe and sound from ebay so he is done and dusted now!

elyphant - Love the idea of a 'square around' scrapbook..........not sure I could manage doing that though............the one rainmac's done is brilliant (as always :T)

fedupandskint - know what you mean about coming over all 'un-christmassy' - I think come December when the lights go on in town here and there's a few more xmas fayres it might make a lot of difference to me. I find some days I'm having to force myself to make some sort of effort. Plus I'm really on top of it all now so feel in a bit of a 'limbo' state if you know what I mean

I want to do a knitting hamper for my mum, she already knits and does some crafty bits, but all her bits and bobs are so old, she has arthritis in her hands and I have read that bamboo knitting needles and crochet hooks are alot better for this, one question I have is what length do I get, there seem to be a few, and does it matter. If anyone knows please help.

I know exactly what you mean, I think because for once I have bought all my family pressies and the cards and decorations in last years sale and a couple of things this year plus most of the food is organised I feel in limbo.

I think when the lights get switched on I'll go late night shopping one Thursday in Dec to feel more Christmassy and have a good look around the fayre in town when it arrives to help.

This will be my first Christmas on my own so maybe this is part of it too.

Making the cards cheered me up and didn't take long. Am trying a pyramage one next so off I go cutting out the pieces ready to stick on.

Then I'll update my Christmas lists too to see what is left to do.

Also have sent 2 more parcels to relatives using the company discussed on a earlier post (hermes) and to those who were interested the parcel arrives safe and sound on the monday after being collected from my house on the friday! Very impressed with the service and price so am def using them now for my EBay as well when i do sell the odd bit here and there. I sent 2 x 1.9 kg parcels for £3.99 collected form my door yesterday too! ;)

Still here - 2 days over due now!!!

Did all my big orders online yesterday, toys r us, amazon, and got some stuff from ebay. So just got a couple more things to get from ebay and then do a half cost order then I will be done...yippee - it's about time too.

Want to buy four christmasses on dvd - has anyone seen it? can't believe there is a christmas dvd I haven't seen. Waiting for an amazon voucher to come and I can order barbie christmas carol, I think I love those films more than dd!

Picked up the little cartoon style nativity in home bargains the other day and dd has loved playing with it since and we have been roleplaying the story.

    Todays's Goals:
    Do half cost order
Finish buying things on ebay (2 small items)
    Wrap novembers birthday presents
    Finish last few cards
    Re do/update lists
Finish emptying two boxes I started two days ago and file it all away
