    Amazon Prime is useless.

75% of items sent for "one-day" delivery for me arrive outside that time slot. So what is the point of paying nearly £50 a year for royal mail 1st class when super-saver delivery will probably be as quick?

    Amazon Prime is brilliant.

100% of items sent for "one-day" delivery for me arrive inside that time slot. So totally worth it for me. :p:D

okay,so Amazon threw me another Prime trial
so while I signed up,I took some screen grabs

so this is the page you get it you select Prime

    prime6.jpg

in your account, you have the option on your renewal

    auto renew
    prime2.jpg

    changing that
    prime3.jpg

    no auto renew
    prime4.jpg

    however,heres the issue I have
you use Prime. you select an item
it tells you on the order page
    prime5.jpg

you will get the item tomorrow.
now I ordered that Buzz yesterday, for delivery today
its no issue as I was aware of the Amazon take on one day delivery
Buzz isnt here today. looking in my Amazon accout it gives a delivery estimate of today
Buzz has no tracking number,so I guess was sent 1st class
however I can see how people get peeved over a page saying they will get it today, then it doesnt show

If you complain to Amazon that they have failed to fulfil their promise of one-day delivery they might give you some money back

But still the more complaints they get the sooner they may look at the process and change it. After-all, Royal Mail 1st Class isn't a guaranteed next-day service.

Amazon have actually been pro-active with some late Prime deliveries recently. In the last few days, I have received two e-mails about two orders I placed in December which were sent by HDNL and arrived a day late. The e-mail said they believe they may have failed to live up to their 1-day delivery promise and if this was the case, I should click a link and my Prime subscription would be extended by a month.

It's understandably unlikely to happen for all those orders they sent by RM 1st Class and which arrived late. These were tracked courier orders, so Amazon were able to tell they arrived late without me even contacting them.
This is everybody's fault but mine.

So custardy - you've signed up for the free trial of Amazon Prime.

Maybe you can tell us if Amazon sneakily signed you up, conned you into taking this service, scammed you by doing so without giving you a chance to say 'no' - as many people who've posted on this thread are alleging.

Or did you have to actually have to choose whether to say 'No thanks' or 'Start my Free Trial'?

    S'OK - I know the answer really. ;)
