Amazon prime is amazing service, i had another free trial and it was so good i was getting almost half the office asking me to order them stuff off amazon! one time my parcel did go 'missing' which our post room never had it handed over to them - quick call to amazon and it was resent out to me this time via RM SD! if i did order enough from amazon then i would pay for prime:beer:In My 'Permanant' Pre-Masters Gap Year

Amazon have actually been pro-active with some late Prime deliveries recently. In the last few days, I have received two e-mails about two orders I placed in December which were sent by HDNL and arrived a day late. The e-mail said they believe they may have failed to live up to their 1-day delivery promise and if this was the case, I should click a link and my Prime subscription would be extended by a month.
It's understandably unlikely to happen for all those orders they sent by RM 1st Class and which arrived late. These were tracked courier orders, so Amazon were able to tell they arrived late without me even contacting them.0 -
okay,so Amazon threw me another Prime trial
so while I signed up,I took some screen grabs
so this is the page you get it you select Prime
in your account, you have the option on your renewal
auto renew
changing that
no auto renew
however,heres the issue I have
you use Prime. you select an item
it tells you on the order page
you will get the item tomorrow.
now I ordered that Buzz yesterday, for delivery today
its no issue as I was aware of the Amazon take on one day delivery
Buzz isnt here today. looking in my Amazon accout it gives a delivery estimate of today
Buzz has no tracking number,so I guess was sent 1st class
however I can see how people get peeved over a page saying they will get it today, then it doesnt show
Unfortunately they cannot do one day delivery every single time guaranteed. 99% of the time they will but it cannot always happen.0 -

the problem I have is that it states it is.0 -

So?
Royal Mail probably state that a parcel with first class post will arrive within 1-2 days but it never does for me.
When it comes to post, you of all people should know there are no guarantees. If you took everything literally like this then life would be full of dissappointment. I know for a that there are various factors which cause the odd delay (very rare)0 -

except thats the very word Amazon use. they state on the 1 day delivery, get it tomorrow. not a delivery estimate of tomorrow
RM don't say will arrrive in 1-2 days0 -
This is what Amazon are currently saying on a randomly picked DVD box-set:
"Want guaranteed delivery by 1pm Thursday, January 12?" on the product page itself.
During the checkout process on the final page to review your order it states "Guaranteed delivery date: Jan 12 , 2012" and also "FREE One-Day Delivery : get it on Thursday, January 12"
Of which I bet if I placed that order right now they will send it out tomorrow using Royal Mail 1st Class which isn't a guaranteed next-day service.0 -

So are you suggesting they never use a guaranteed delivery service? The large number of regular Prime users will disagree......0 -
We are getting away from the original post here. 99% of the time, I get one day delivery as stated by Amazon. I have been compensated by way of an additional month of Prime membership for the (very) odd occasion where this has not been fulfilled. This is good enough for me.
To get back to the op, I knew what I was doing when I took up the offer of a free month with Amazon Prime. I didn't inadvertantly tick a box but was was aware when I accepted the free trial that I could get out of it if it wasn't for me. I decided it was beneficial and am more than happy with the service received. The way I see it is if you do not like Amazon Prime either do not continue with it after the free period or get out of it as soon as possible. It serves no purpose to gripe about it simply to get into a debate with those who appear satisfied with Amazon Prime.
The simple answer is if it doesn't suit you, cancel it.0 -

not in the slightest.
Amazon say"get it on......."
So if someone orders, surely they expect Amazon to use a serice that fits that?
