  • I used the amazon prime trial on an order, then went to cancel it after I placed the order, it said I had not registered so I left it. I have now been charged £49, I went on my amazon account to cancel amazon prime, but it said in my account I had not signed up to it, but £49 has been removed from my account to pay for it. How can I get my money back?

crazy idea, but have you contacted Amazon?
  • I've emailed them, and have had no response, I've tried to phone them but it wasn't working. I'll try again tomorrow
  • Right, let me get this perfectly clear from the start amazon have been very kind and refunded me my money and it was my own fault for not reading and understand the T&C fully...

But this is by definition a scam.. simple as that..
A confidence trick or confidence game (also known as a bunko, con, flim flam, gaffle, grift, hustle, scam, scheme, swindle or bamboozle) is an attempt to defraud a person or group by gaining their confidence. - source wiki
So to make this clear I fell for this "scam" becuase I trusted amazon not to sign me up for a £49 a year subscription when I'm signing upto a free trial.. and thats defraud part.. advertising it as a free trial when really it's a promise you'll pay £49 a year unless you cancel it.

I guess that makes me stupid but those are the fact. tbh I think they should just have the free trial as just that a free trial and when it ends you get offered to subscribe and confirm your payments and such.

Because thats the other thing.. I didn't get asked which bank account I would like the Amazon prime subscription fee to be taken from. They just used the bank information I've entrusted to them on my account information.

What is your problem Amazon have refunded your money.

Another person shouting and screaming that Amazon are trying to con people, it is amazing how it is a scam when by your own admission you cannot be bothered to read and understand the T&C, do you always blame someone else when something occurs that is your fault.

So you wanted a free trial but expected nothing at all to come of it? Surely it is obvious that something will follow a trial?

They didn't even hide the fact away, log into your account and you got a section saying continue or end after free period. If anything from when I used the trial it seemed that Amazon wanted people to not continue.

Amazon really should stop refunding these things.

Just because you can't read the Ts and Cs, doesn't mean they don't apply to you.
