:rotfl:totally agree.
I used the prime trial, it was very clear it was a trial and, unless cancelled, a charge would apply after a month. Obviously I must work for Amazon as i understood the terms
If anything, Amazon are totally open and you can opt out straight away and still have the months trial.0 -
Hmmm.
I never wanted to use Amazon prime and I've never ever been charged for it.
OH, on the other hand, wanted to use it and was charged for it.
So that's 2 people, both sides of the coin.
I can't see Amazon just picking certain people out of thin air and choosing to charge them if they haven't signed up.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I have had £47 pounds taken from my account. Never even heard of this service. I read everything carefully so I don't know how on earth I could have signed up for anything. I'm fuming and will make sure that I remove my card details from them and won't use Amazon again.0

Rose-Marie,
When you did you last order, did you select 1 day delivery .... which came with a free trial of Amazon Prime .....
Go & try it .... select a book, pretend to order it & when you come to select a delivery method you should see the options I listed further up this thread .... one of them is 1 day delivery with Amazon Prime.
Anyway .... as others have said - call them, they might refund.

Yes thanks I think I see what I've done. It sounds like they are very good if you haven't used the service. Like others I seem to have clicked the wrong button  Have only used Amazon once in a year as I prefer to mooch in Borders, but I will be aware of this when ordering anything else online.0 -

Well done for owning up to the fact that it was probably something you did or didn't do rather than Amazon ripping you off. :T
I hope you get your Prime fee refunded without too much trouble.
Maybe pejay666 and deltatango should try the same thng and see if they really are as internet savvy as they think they are.
And no, I'm not, nor have I ever been, an employee of Amazon.0 -

Can I just add too, that I have received email within 12 hours (easter sunday) from Amazon giving me full refund - so thats pretty good service. Phew!0 -
To be honest I did the same and it was my fault. Didnt think I could get a refund though. I wonder if its worth trying to get the refund now although its been a while. I know its my fault for not reading properly but lets be honest, Amazon know that a lot of people wont read it properly. I think thats why some are getting refunds.

Its a shame that my first post is to admit that I have been duped by this too. I am usually super careful about this sort of thing, I really can't afford the luxury of complacency. I am positive (well at least 99.9% positive) that I cancelled this, I only wanted it because I needed to get something quick, I knew it would be highly unlikely I would use the service again.
But here, a month later, I go to the shops and my card is refused _pale_. I came home and checked, £49.97 Prime Memebership. I called my bank and they told me it was most likely Amazon. I gave them a call and a very charming young man cancelled my membership and has issued a full refund to go back on my card in 2-3 days. Phew indeed!
Maybe they hoped I wouldn't noticebut I'll be triple super careful from now on!!
