hi i didnt know where to post this so thought this was as good a place as any!
i ordered a book from amazon months ago and thought nothing of it, well until i noticed 49 quid missing from my bank account a "prime member fee" that i apparently signed up to when i got the book delivered i am flamin raging i live on a minimum wage and was managing to scrape through the past couple of months i have 3 kids under 6 and am struggling for xmas and stuff as it is and since they took out this money i have 6 pound left in my account until next thurs when some money will go in!
has anyone else had any experience of this?
i have written of an email to them asking for my money back asap as i feel i was duped into this i received no correspondence from them to say they would be taking this money i feel they have been very under hand about it.
apparently if you havent used the service you are entitled to your money back so i havent so heres hoping !!
any advice would be grately appreciated.

Dear Joanne,
I have had the same situation as yours..
I found Amazon.co.uk phone number, which is 08004961081 and have contacted them. I did explain, that I have ticked the box of Prime Member accidently and have been charged £47.97. I have bought only one book which was a British Criminology Dictionary.. The lady asked my details and she canceled my subscription, also she suggested that I will recieve my money back into my account in 2-3 business days.
So we shall see..0 -

How many more times do people have to say:
it's NOT a scam, it's NOT a con, it's not a rip-off.
:wall::wall::wall:
It's YOU who cocked it up!
You're right - you are innocent!
And instead of 'lodging a formal complaint' with Amazon, if I were you I'd be pretty damn happy that they'd refunded the Prime fee, when it was YOUR fault YOU incurred it by not being more careful.0 -

Pollycat ... couldn't agree more .... when buying a book, the option for amazon prime is there ... along with the t&cs ... people select it because it says FREE delivery .... don't read the t&cs ... then moan .... I think Amazon are being very reasonable in their approach in refunding!!!!
This thread really drives me nuts

My 18 yr old daughter was very upset that money was about to leave her bank account and she had no idea why. We thought it was fraud! We contacted the bank and stopped her card, now we have been told it was PRIME MEMBER FEE! I called Amazon and played hell! Apparently this money should be refunded but I am still very angry about this. I cant believe that a company like Amazon should be using such underhand ways of getting peoples money!
It's not underhand, your daughter needs to be more careful when ordering goods from the internet.
If I were you, I'd be ANGRY with her rather than with Amazon.

And I'd be thankful that Amazon are pretty good about refunding the Prime Member fee - even when it's the customer's fault it's been incurred.0 -

Well when I called Amazon I was told that they had quite a few calls like mine and would look into it, so no, Im not angry with my daughter, yes she has a lot to learn but even so.... even the Lloyds TSB bank dispute line said she would not have been aware of these charges!
really, were they sitting beside her when she placed the order?
honestly read the entire thread, all the info is on the amazon site0
