Just googled this "prime membership fee" item I had on my bank statement and happy to see MSE comes up as a result with what I can do about it.
Was taken out yesterday, didn't realise I had to cancel the membership manually but my own fault for not reading. Gave them a quick call, all cancelled and refund being processed.
I like amazon. She was very nice too the lady on the phone."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
Joanne , just seen this in my statement , didn't know what it was so looked it up on the web and it took me to this site where I saw your post so I registered so I could reply to you .
I'm gonna try emailing them to get my cash back and will let you know how I get on . Any updates on how you get on would be appreciated thanks .0 -

will have to be more careful in future lol
hardtail
joanne35 posted that she received her money back a few days after her original post (Oct 2008).
Lots of other people have posted since that they've been refunded so you should be OK.0 -

Hi all, i just realised i had money taken from my account today- going to who... but amazon for this prime member fee, which is a load of crock!! i phoned them straight away and the money is being refunded! companys like them should not be able to get away with scamming innocent people especially at a crucial time like this!! so angry with them and will be lodging a formal complaint against them for this! completely unprofessional and unexeptable!0

maybe when you accepted (or excepted/exepted) those T&C's you would have noticed this?
exactly who are you lodging that formal complaint with? the internet police?0 -

Well no actually there was nothing to say that this would happen, and as for the complaint it will be made to the company, as its unfair of them to do this to people!0
