I'm glad that you will happily pay £5.48 for these! Instead of £5
I bet Tesco wish all customers were like you! If you regard this as trivial, then you do a dis-service to the ethos of this BOARD!
You wouldn't pay 5.48 you would be charged 5.00, and if you're not you could (from Tesco) request a FULL REFUND for an overcharge at the till.0 -

Hi Wig
I think you'll find the "the Buy2 get 1pound off " type promotions have/ are being phased out in Tesco, its all ..............
Buy 2 for £x .......... with no mention of the savings.
They used to state........"Buy 2 for £x Save £x.xx"
But the inclusion of the......" Save £x.xx" gives rise to the problem I've been discussing in this post.
Tesco's are in a transitional phase with multibuys, and nobody knows what's what until it goes through the till, including the staff.
The Till has become this "all seeing all knowing GOD in Tesco's" and whatever it says Goes, it does its own calculations suposedly working out whatever is the cheapest for the customer.
Well if you wann put your trust in this new super till to work out whats best for you as the customer then good luck to you!
I'd rather know what I'm gonna pay BEFORE I get to the till!0 -
Wow - we guys love to argue don't we!!!
I find it laughable when Tesco's take off 20p or so off a £2.00 item and people flock the SA. I'd much rather buy the item full price with 4-5 days on the use by dates and coupon it down. Tastes better too. There is no need to run outside
For better seeing,
Nor to peer from a window.
Rather abide at the center of your being.

I agree with the OP. I never buy the reduced items in Tesco (well, like the ones you've mentioned. The one's already on special offer).
The Co-op can actually end up paying you for taking away their stuff if they've been marked down and they're BOGOF too.0 -

Perhaps you wanna go over to the TESCO Missprice section and tell all the people Hunting for R&R's that THEY are all "Tight Fisted old GITS"
...........see how long you last there!
Uh huh.... it's all a bit, .... POINTLESS, no?
Life's too short, get over it.
Or even better, send a nice letter to the Managing Director, get a DEFINITIVE answer, and then take your little letter with you to every tesco you go to and prove them all wrong.
Maybe that will bring you some happiness.
good luckThe word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.

I work in Morrisons on the checkouts and if I notice a customer with items on offer that have been reduced I tell them it is really only worth buying one of them.
It is very difficult though to remember what is on offer and sometimes it gets confusing explaining to customers why the offer won't come off. I would advise people to check their receipts before leaving the store - at least you wouldn't get home and then realise you didn't quite get the bargain you were hoping for. :mad:0 -
grex9101 wrote:and i bet its folk like you who go into shops at the last possible minute to get the reductions then keep all the staff back whilst checking your receipt/complaining that your 10p rolls scanned at 11p....
indeed, i bet you're the kind of person who buys these "two for £x.xx" deals to get stuff for free.
like when the pies are reduced to 49p, bet you'd still buy two to get the 98p off....
tighter than a ducks backside
Whats wrong with any of that?!?!
For me, if items are reduced and so the discount will no longer work then thats fair enough, but if the items and normally 2 for £5 and then (with that days date on) they reduce them to £2.49 then I think that is a con!
Its like when they have huge posters saying 2 for £1.30 and the items are normally 67p each so the total saving is like 4p but instead of putting "buy 2 and save 4p" they do it the other way round. Some people might not think its that bad, fair enough but most people just see the offer and think they must automatically be saving a good amount by buying more!

I agree morp3us........we don't need sarkey comments from posters telling us we are tights G1ts.
Its a legit complaint against Tesco, and if the posters think its trivial then move on and comment constructively elsewhere!
And thinking about it ....why are they here on MSE anyway, if they are not tight g1ts themselves?0 -
haveagoade wrote:Everybody is missing the point.........my point is, Tesco should be clear and fair with their customers and state CLEARLY on the reduced section that.......
MULTIBUY SAVINGS DO NOT APPLY TO REDUCED PRICE ITEMS
Hardly unreasonable is it..........
This depends on what you think a supermarkets policy is. Supermarkets are there to make vast sums of money, and by shopping in a supermarket, you only add to this!
