and i bet its folk like you who go into shops at the last possible minute to get the reductions then keep all the staff back whilst checking your receipt/complaining that your 10p rolls scanned at 11p....

indeed, i bet you're the kind of person who buys these "two for £x.xx" deals to get stuff for free.

like when the pies are reduced to 49p, bet you'd still buy two to get the 98p off....

    tighter than a ducks backside

YEAH thats right mate......thats me.......question is.....What the .... are you doing here then????????????

Everybody is missing the point.........my point is, Tesco should be clear and fair with their customers and state CLEARLY on the reduced section that.......

MULTIBUY SAVINGS DO NOT APPLY TO REDUCED PRICE ITEMS

    Hardly unreasonable is it..........

Well they don't need to say that though, the offers do apply, if it says 2 for £5 the most you will pay for two is £5, and if its buy 2 save £1 if you buy two you will save £1
    Titch :)

sorry for being picky but don't you mean 'have the authority'?
I am sure that all Tesco staff are able to write out a reduced price sticky label!
    ;)

(I'll just get my coat, ducks to avoid fallout....)

    Well yes... :-P

But honestly, regular checkout operators physically cannot over ride prices, its been removed from the menu on the tills as some people would abuse it for friends/family
    Titch :)

No, Outtathaway, 'cos if it's "buy 1 get 1 free" you WILL NOT get the offer as advertised.

And if the offer was "buy 2, save £1" you wouldn't get £1 off the reduced price shown either. But most shops don't say "buy 2, save £1" they say "buy 2 for £1.19" where £1.19 is implicitly "save £1" but only if you paid full price in the first place.

You do in Tesco, even if the product is reduced. It's the buy 2 for a set price promos that don't work on reduced goods.

Well you are all wrong becuase , nobody really knows what happens till you get your receipt, and that includes the staff doing the reductions, in my case!

Mine was an offer that was £2.99 each or "Buy 2 for £5", But it then went on to state on the pacK "Save 98p".........which I subsequently did NOT!

Now some of you say that if the packs do not state the saving amount that is to be made, that the multibuy produces, then TESCO are entitled NOT to give the multibuy saving, on the sell by reduction items!

Well thats a fabricated excuse made to justify their position, becuase in my case there was the "BUY 2 for £5" statement........BUT then underneath it said
    "SAVE 98p"

There is also another type of promotion where they state

"BUY any 2 and SAVE £1"

so it all adds to the confusion!

You May have several type of TESCO promotions
    For a £2.99 item;

    Promotion 1. "Buy 2 for £5"

    Promotion 2. "Buy 2 for £5" "Save 98p"

    Promotion 3. "Buy any 2 for £5"

    Promotion 4. "Buy any 2 for £5" "Save 98p"

Alls these are then MIXED UP and stacked up on the reductions counter and you are expected to work out whats what!

Maybe the simple solution is that Tescos should just dump anything when it comes close to the date that way they do not have to worry about reducing it. I think common sense would say that if something has been reduced then the orginal pricing structure no longer applies (unless stated otherwise).
