  • I have spoken to our local police and am lodging a formal statement as I believe their behaviour on the phone was harassment and bordering on threatening behaviour as he was claiming he could come to the house!!!

You are right to lodge a complaint with the police - this behaviour is completely beyond the pale. How dare they try to persuade your daughter to give them your credit card details! And as for the rest of it - how revolting and creepy and yes, threatening. These people are worse than I thought. I think I'll write to my MP about them.
  • I have been contacted by Tucan recently, well that what they said anyway. They told me it was about my claim for PPI,( but i hadn't made a claim). This man then told me(supposedly) how much credit that i took out since 1995 and was going to send me a pack out for me to sign, he had my name and address but wanted me to confirm it was me and the correct account by me telling him my account card No. Of course I did not give it to him, so he gave up and just said we'll send the pack out anyway.
It sounded like a SCAM and probably is, but had me doubing myself about making the claim.
WATCH OUT.. if similar happens to you -report it.
A reputable compant would not make these kinds of under-hand tactics.

Tell them everything that has been said, also for the poster who is waiting for a refund six months down the line, report them for this.
Please do it,and if they get enough calls they will deal with these.

Please note that amersall's link is only suitable for those living in England & Wales, as Scotland has it's own justice system

Scotland DOES have its own system but, as a Welsh business, however, Tucan's terms and conditions say "This agreement is governed by English Law". So I see no reason why a consumer in Scotland (or Northern Ireland for that matter) should not complain to the English regulator.

These idiots called us again today and wanted to speak to my daughter...she told them again we weren't interested and they said they didnt want to sell her anything they just wanted to talk to her as she sounded 'awesome'!!!! I took the phone from her and blew a whistle down the phone then hung up on them..they called again and i told them not to call again and hung up...they then called again!!!

I am now waiting for the police to turn up for a formal statement.
  • Thankyou for the link, I have emailed them with details of my complaint

    Likewise.

I have also made a formal request for all data held by them on my aunt, which they have refused.

I have written today to my aunt's MP and copied in John Mann MP who has taken a personal interest in this company.

  • I got a full refund from my aunt's bank's fraud department.

Tucan do not answer correspondence as I've refused to supply them with a full power of attorney which contains a lot of personal information they have no need to know. I have supplied them with the PoA number, date of registration with the Office of the Public Guardian and my details, but apparently that's not good enough for them.

My aunt's MP has taken an interest and has been told he will recieve a briefing from the Ministry of Justice as to why it has taken over a year to investigate this company and why they still not have suspended their license.
