Morning all, not been on here for *ages*. With 3 small ones it's hard to grab 5 minutes. My youngest is ill with an ear/throat infection so snuggled on the sofa under her blanket next to me.

Anyhow, has anyone seen any battery operated tea lights anywhere? I have lots of lovely christmassy tea light holders that i can normallu only use at night.

    Thanks

    Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....
  • Just a thought, if you don't mind people seeing how much you've spent how about putting the receipt in the movie night basket so they can swap it if they've got it? Im going to do this, the dvd will only be about £3 but not bothered in them seeing the price really, id rather they can swap it if need be. :)

  • I'm very excited as I finally bought my first xmas pressie!! It was a bit of a sudden brainwave actually....my boyfriend has been asking for stand up comedy dvds, so i've gone one better and got him tickets to see his fave comedian live! I know he'll be excited.

As for everyone else, i'm very good at making lists and ideas, but i never commit to anything!!

I was also wondering how you make these chocolate slabs that people keep talking about? They sound lovely!
  • Wilkinson should now have the battery operated tea lights in. I work there and have been putting them out on the shelves over the last few nights along with all the Christmas lights etc.

I think amazon had them for £4.99 - it was a while back. Failing that have you searched on gadget websites - if you look on quidco they have loads of gadget merchants.

Sorry i can't be much help

OMG, I have finally reached the last page of this thread, I only started about three weeks ago! I’ve got some fantastic ideas though so it was worth it.

I’ve been pretty organised so far, I have a cupboard full of presents bought at bargenous prices throughout the year, and have mostly decided what else I need. Unfortunately, money is rather tight this month so I shall have to wait until November to finish things off.

Rachel85: For your Top gear hamper, I can’t think of anything else to go in it, but for the container, what about decorating a cardboard box with pictures of cars to make it look like the cool wall?
For the hotel gift, if you don’t have a brochure, why not print some pictures of the hotel and add some tourist information guides for the local area? You could do something similar for the holiday money too.

sweet_exception: Instead of a movie, have you considered a board game or a pack of cards and book of card games? They still get a night in together and the other bits of the hamper still make sense.
