Just ordered two free Becks pint glasses (from the freebie board, 100,000 available) so will make them into sock pints for my dad and brother's Christmas box, and will include a bottle of Becks probably too, and maybe a bottle opener or something? Make a nice little stocking filler :)

Thank you so much for that, I have successfully ordered mine and that is another pressie ticked off the list!
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!

  • Thanks, I've saved that in my favourites and will start copying and pasting a few facts each evening, shouldn't take too long as I can hopefully get them all from this site.

    Thanks
:love:11th March 2010- Got engaged to my amazing fiance, planning our wedding for 2012:love:
  • For my pamper hampers I managed to pick up cosy blankets from Tesco tonight reduced to £1.25 each!!! they weren't even priced as that on the shelves, had to use their price checker scanner in the store to find out their price!

Help!?!? U-turn on Movie night in basket!!!

Was making a movie hamper for my bro's fiance, but asked him on the sly today what dvd if any she would like, and he says they've seen most films, and already have the majority on dvd... so he thinks a dvd is daft idea.

What can I do to turn the hamper into a movie one without the movie???

How about cinema tickets?....If you collect tesco vouchers you use them. :)

My DH is a nightmare to buy for, he never wants anything or gives ideas about what to get him (says he doesn't need anything) and to top it off his birthday is 3 days before Christmas. I always keep his birthday and Christmas seperate, think it is only fair.

He likes one type of sweet and generally has a fav wine so these are good "extras". I am so into the hamper idea this christmas, but I thought there was nothing I could do for him but I think I have thought of something - an Essentials Hamper. I am going to buy him his usual toiletries, deoderant, soap, shampoo etc (he doesn't use anything fancy), socks, boxers, and maybe some other things if I can think of them.

I think I can bulk this out to look ok. It might not be too exciting a present but it is practical and he will appreciate it.

    Does this sound daft?

ang2664- sounds like a fab idea to me. my DH always gets deodrant for xmas - he only uses 1 type and goes thro a can in a fortnight. what about a character t-shirt to go in the hamper? HMV are doing them for £5.

for birthday could you get him a dvd boxset (one you would watch too), some wine, popcorn, large bar choccy??
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Hi all! You're all far more organised than me, but I've finally bought my first christmas present! Problem is, I'm a 15 year old girl so obviously don't have enough money to go and buy lots of things in one day!

Have decided what I'm getting everyone though and I'm rather excited. My parents never really tell me what they want ('nothing'), so I'm going to buy small presents and give them to them for the 12 days before Christmas - four for mum, four for dad and four to share.. then again one each for Christmas day. It's going to be pretty much a lucky dip type thing, rather than my deciding what comes each day... the 'share' gifts are quite jokey and cheap :) Do you think it's a good idea? It wont cost me too much this way and I think they'll like it because it's quite unusual and different. I'm going to wrap in three different papers - one for mum, one for dad and one for the shares.

Doing my brother a retro sweet 'thing' - not entirely sure what these are going to go in yet. My sister and brother in law are sorted too... last person is my nephew - it's his first Christmas - not 100% sure what I'm getting him yet but have ideas... any more are appreciated though!! :D

(and no, none of these people will ask for presents or expect them, but I WANT to give them)
The book idea for your nephew is good or maybe some clothes in the next size up. They get so many toys! :) Its annoying when people say they want 'nothing' isn't it! I think the idea for your mum and dad is lovely. :) Just another little idea, maybe you could do your mum and dad a movie night hamper and then make yourself scarce one night so they can have a romantic movie night? :)

Doesn't sound daft at all, Ive done my mum a luxury versuion of an essentials basket before. Shampoo, moisturiser etc but all nice ones that she wouldn't buy herself. I did my sister an essentials basket for her birthday too, all her fave perfumes, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant etc. :)

Im so excited, I keep thinking of new things to make like chocolate slabs! I just thought of something i wanted to do but its slipped my mind in an instant.
