jetcat for ur carer and partner how about a movie night hamper?

that sounds good - her hubbie works away, and is only home 3 weeks out of 3 months, so maybe they will appreciate a nice night in. WOuld that be wine, a dvd (or a voucher - they like horrors, i have no idea what is good in that field lol) and popcorn?

    Hiya everyone,
I hope you dont mind me joining, i've been lurking for ages reading through everything, im currently on page 46 arghh!! I've bought sooo many presents already, and spent a fortune, but I suppose I have it good because I dont even have children!
For either my partners birthday (16th Dec) or christmas, im hoping to make him a "favourites" hamper, made up of bits and pieces from his favourite films, as well as his favourite chocolate/sweets/tv programmes etc, but the only problem with this is he LOVES opening presents, so I want him to have things to open. I was hoping someone could tell me wether it is possible to do a nice looking hamper with everything wrapped up? or if anyone has done this before wether they had pictures?
Thank you everyone for the fab ideas, this is my first MSE xmas, infact it's my first one not living with parents as im only 18, so this has been a life saver!
    I'm getting so excited now!
Sorry for my 1st post being so long, and thanks in advance for any help! xx

Hi yippee kye yay, v good point about gift stuff. However the sets for bro and BIL are definitely in Boots (I checked) and the pressies for step-MIL and OH's stepbro's GF are interchangeable if they havent got the exact ones, something similar will be fine - ditto with third pressie in that set for my other mate, I have an idea of something for her but she is exceedingly easy to buy for (she isnt fussy) so again if they havent got the exact present Im sure it wont be too difficult to find an alternative.
Thanks for pointing out - may help other people!!! I just use the gift guide as an idea and then try to tailor the pressies round what is available.

jetcat - of course you can ask for advice, were all very helpfull as you will see from the thread. the personalized books maybe try egmont they do character ones or there are some other that do christmas ones. for your friend/carer how about a joint hamper for them, there are a list of hampers on a thread somewhere, but some of the people on here have some good ideas too. not sure about grandparents with it having to be posted but im sure some of the MSE's will have some ideas for you.

  • Hello folks... I'm a newbie to posting on these forums, but love this christmas thread! I started taking notes at the weekend for ideas to make hampers for my family!

I'm thinking of doing one for my nan who's about 83, partially sighted, and house bound, so doesn't really get out much and has about everything you could ever think of. But i'm thinking of doing a cosy hamper for her, with tasty treats in it, pou pourri, calendar, tissues etc... but looking for a nice cosy blanket at a reasonable price...

Does anyone know where i'll get a cosy blanket fairly cheap? Any other ideas what I could give her?

    Trying to keep budget low...

My Netto had nice looking ones for £14.99 yesterday..........I don't know how this compares with elsewhere.
