This isnt the DT board,its NOT a place for giving opinions,its somewhere people can come for help and advice on benefits,often when they feel they have nowhere else to turn.I keep saying it but will say it again:threads like this serve NO purpose whatsoever and only put people off asking for our help,If you want to debate the benefits system or racism or disability there are more suitable place to do just that.
Whilst I appreciate that these forums arent moderated there are such things as board guides and frankly by allowing this thread to develop as it has they do MSE no service.

to the original poster, i am a single mum(my ex husband was physically abusive, i didnt have a choice but to leave for my son's safety), both sons(twins) have disabilities and receive hrc lrm, and i claim IS as well as carer's. i have no choice but to claim IS there is no possibilty of me returing to work as i am needed full time by my sons. i have a bf, and we are discussing living together. And yes i will be much worse off financially, but will gain so much more in love and support, that it will be worth it.
