    So much misinformation on here!
Autism is a spectrum condition for instance my youngest very profound, non verbal with SLD can read faces, he however has no empathy it only serves him to know when someone is angry it doesn't mean he knows what to do with that information.
Children can be dx before five yrs old, my son was dx at two years old, the problem with early diagnosis is that it may not be autism at all, it could just be developmental delay which would present with similar features to autism in the very young, having said that the earlier diagnosed the earlier intervention can begin, or so the story goes, my son received no interventions at all.
Autism is hugely on the increase which I believe is a genuine increase but I also believe there is a fair amount of over diagnosing or even suggestion of ASD by people working with children.
Today's Daily Mail gives a very good description of the more high functioning Aspergers in the computer hacker case, that's if it's OK to mention a red top, lol.
I understand where Breastcancer lady is coming from in that she respects others opinion but does not understand why people do not respect her opinion, this would be typical of an Asperger person.
We have a long way to go on awareness, clearly.

  • Yet another thread that has become a slanging match, this isnt the board to discuss issues or opinions, its for help and advice.
And I say(yet again)that such threads are putting people off seeking help.
Perhaps this thread could be left to die a natural death, unless someone decides to move it to a relevant place??

my son was awarded DLA HRC at the age of 2 years 7 months at that time he had classic symptoms of ASD - he did NOT get a formal diagnosis of ASD until he was 8 years old - but was in receipt of DLA all that time
you DON'T need a diagnosis - you simply need to state your childrens care needs on the form and have a professional - this could be social worker, health visitor, GP, head teacher to countersign the form for you
    PLEASE submit your claim
if youa re successful you can then apply to the Family Fund who may pay for your driving lessons - they paid for 30 lessons and my driving test and this ahs been a godsend to me

This is very naughty. Perhaps we could also say if there weren't so many single parents then there would be enough homes to go round, and the welfare bill would be much less.

IF you and your children were starving or in fear of your lives then wouldn't you be looking for a friendlier place to live? You were fortunate enough to be born in a country that is prepared to support you and your childrens existences to a reasonably comfortable standard, courtesy of the taxpayers without you having to lift a finger. Do not begrudge those so much worse off than yourself.

I actually had some sympathy for you before you started the BNP racist claptrap.
    Well said.

Although I have no sympathy whatsoever for single parents who sit on benefits.

Its very judgemental of you to class all single mums on benefit as lazy, the 3 of us on here are obviously not.

1 still works, 1 is looking for work & so shall I once ive had my surgery.

Ive just about had enough of all you spiteful bullying posters, ive seen how u speak to anyone on here that claims benefits that you dont agree with.

Unfortunately for u & lucky for us ur not in charge & never will be, it seems that everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as it is the same opinion as yours.

Come back & personally attack me as much as u want, u dont know me, from what ive heard alot of new posters feel the same way as me.

I shall not be posting on this or any other forum again, my life is difficult enough already with being witch hunted.

Grow up and get yourself a life!
How dare you attack people that you don't know the first bit about why they are single parents/can't work.
Who do you think you are?
Your comments are unhelpful, offensive and attacking people you have no ideal on.
Get a life and walk on, your advice isn't wanted her, simple as, your a no body

Attack me much as you want, I won't allow you to say hurtful things about people in need of help.

People that have been attacked already take no notice of this muppet!!!

Thanks for your kind words, ive had a really bad week & im feeling abit low at the moment & knowing there are actually understanding people does help.

The problem is ive had nothing but personal attacks since joining this forum & my mental health being the way it is at the moment can't take anymore.

Some of the people on here are so suspicious & judgemantal, even when you try to explain they try to twist everything you say so its impossible to win.

Obviously they just get a kick out of kicking poor defenseless people when they are already down.

Reading the things they write about me is so upsetting, im already paranoid that people don't like me because of my Asperger's.

I know I can be blunt, defensive & say the 1st thing that comes into my head without thinking it through, I can't help it thats just the way my brain works.

Thanks again for sticking up for me & understanding where im coming from.

You can get on your high horse and play the victim all you like, but that cannot hide the fact you made racist and offensive comments towards other people who could also be considered helpless and defenseless.

You were bang out of order and your disorder/condition is no defence for that.

I'd have more sympathy for you if you were big enough to admit you spoke in anger and want to retract your comments, but you choose to hide behind a disorder instead, and then try sending everyone on a guilt trip.

Doesn't wash with me I'm afraid.

I believe ESA works for the DWP. Gives a lot of very helpful advice on this board.

I consider his advice is very much wanted and appreciated on here.

This thread has turned into the same old, same old. Lone parents looking for ways to get round the rules, still wanting the taxpayers to fund their fairly comfortable lives while they whine about not being able to have live in boyfriends. Go to work, earn your own crust and then you can have as many boyfriends as you like. However while you choose to accept the taxpayers money then there are rules that you must abide by. Very simple.
