Anyone stayed at the Excalibur recently? Booked a good deal in Sept for 5 nights the covers the weekend. Tripadvisors reviews are mixed. Booked a 'widescreen room'

I can always cancel if a better option comes my way, was just looking for some feedback. Thanks

I stayed last september in a widescreen room and was fine.

I am going back in spetember too the excalibur as the rates were excellent.

It's good value for money and remember you're not tied to spending your whole time there, there's so much to see that it doesn't matter so much where you decide to lay your head at the end of the night.

True! The only annoyance of most people seems to be the 'time share' people 'harassing' them really

Can't say I came across any of that, but it's been over a year since I was there.

You get that at many hotels - guest or not...just:

    a) split up as you approach them (they mainly stop couples)
    b) say 'our flight leaves this afternoon' if they do try to stop you
    c) say 'I've been declared bankrupt' if they do try to stop you
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

My other half wants to go to vegas and he liked the idea of the Luxor as he engoys the egyption theme.

I have booked the luxor for his 60th as a surprise but after reading some of the negative reviews i was thinking of changing the hotel.

Dessert Rose resort gets good reviews as does the signature
Can anyone with more knowledge please help?

I've said it before , but here it goes again . Trip Advisor can lead you up the garden path as regards to Vegas .

all the hotels will have some bad reviews . the the hotels on the strip to careful about are
    • Stratosphere
    • Circus Circus
    • Rivera
    • Sahara
    • Tropicanna

the 2nd tier of Hotels to be less wary of but still check up on are
    • Exaclibur
    • Imperial Palace

after that it is only degrees of comfort IMO . yes the Luxor will get some negative reviews , but i bet a lot of people enjoy their stay there and never write a review .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

The MGM often has offers around that price, but it's the first time I've seen free show tickets at the Palazzo.

I would go with the Palazzo as it's a far newer property. I have only stayed in a Fortuna Suite, but the normal suites look the same as the Venetian. $129 is a very good price even without the show tickets so I would grab that.

I agree with Luci even without staying at either property...especially if the Phantom tickets are something you're happy with having since that really adds to the value of the deal. I also think that while the buffet deal at MGM is nice, you'll not necessarily want to eat there more than once a day so it's value is a bit more limited.

If we were choosing between the 2 I don't think we would hesitate to go with Palazzo - in fact, we would be booking that offer if there wasn't a 2-night minimum.
