Just checked my reservation and I haven't been charged the $10 for booking by phone so that's a bonus.

I am signed up to get emails as I get the occasional one with general information on Total Rewards, but I've never had a room offer. Both Paris and Bally's have asked me by phone if I wanted to receive emails from them and I said yes, so here's hoping I do receive them now.

I can't believe they are selling rooms at $39.50 at the weekend when they are $180 and $169 on Hot Deals and it's a big fight weekend.

palazzo all booked and mgm room cancelled
    trip finally completed
4 nights mgm (with ka tickets)
    3 nights LA
    2 nights Palazo (with phantom)
2 nights Mbay (with lion king)

misses and sister not happy about the amount of moving around but hey..lots of shopping around to get the best deals!
right now off to do some extra shifts at work to fund it all...

We have found that it's only worth unpacking if we are there for 3 nights or more, but it would help if you got into your room early.

We were only at the Palazzo for 2 nights, didn't get our room till 4.30-5.00pm and we had a show that night. Next morning it wasn't worth unpacking for the 1 night, but if we had got our keys earlier it might have been.

You have chosen great hotels there and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I think it's a good combo as you'll be moving a fair way up or down the strip each move at least. As for living out of a suitcase, we normally only unpack and iron clothes for 2-3 days at a time anyway (we both always overpack and come home with a lot of unworn stuff). :)

Congrats on getting it all booked!

I have amended our existing booking and asked for the two bookings to be linked so we don't have to change rooms, but if we have then so be it.

FWIW, we always do 2 consecutive booking at Ballys since we stay over 7 nights (1 my husband, 1 me - as that way we can normally get a better deal) and even when we forget to ask them in advance to link them we've turned up with both confirmations and they've linked them at the desk - so at least in our experience you shouldn't have to change rooms.

Thanks. My only concern is that the first 2 nights are in the North Tower and the next 3 in the South Tower. I'm willing to pay to upgrade and not have to move, but if I get it free then even better.

    You're mad:eek:
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Hi - just wanted to post a 'thanks' for all the fantastic info in this thread (and the previous one!) I have been reading since mid way through the past thread, and we are *finally* jetting off this week. Although complicated, we are taking DD to a medical-specialist summer camp in Texas, so our (month long!!!!) holiday itinerary is;

Local to camp, Texas (3 nights)
    Dallas Fort Worth (2 nights)
    Vegas (5 nights - Luxor)
SF (Golden Gate Hotel - 11 nights)
DFW (3 nights to collect DD)
then all off to Cape Cod (7 nights)
before flying home again - phew!

So - re the Vegas section, we are in Luxor for our stay, one night in a GC 'ranch'/heli tour thingy, one night at O - I have gleaned sooo many ideas from you, but if anyone fancies the 'what I would do with 3 days/nights in Vegas Top 3' then that would be cool :D

i think you have enough pre planned . sticking to a schedule isn't s much fun as doing things off the cuff IMO .

Make sure you see The Bellaigio Fountains at least once , and try to get another show in ( half price of course )

have a rough idea of a few places to eat , and i think your set . personal choices would be a least one Buffet ( Bellagio , Planet Hollywood or Mirage will be excellent choices) , and maybe one of the restaurants listed and reviewed in post 4 .

also try Peppermill or Carnigies @ Mirage for a breakfast . top tip : go to the Peppermill for breakfast one day and buy some half price show tickets from the half price booth outside while there .;)

on a side note , if your going to Cape Cod , then a Whale Watching trip out of Provincetown is a great idea , but be sure you take seasickness tablets before you set off . i saw three Humpbacks , a baby Humpback , a school of Dolphins and a Breaching Minky whale ( simply awe inspiring ) . if you stay anywhere near Chatham then reserve a table at the Impudent Oyster restaurant if you want a very nice ( if slighty expensive ) place to eat .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

    Guys,

I should've mentioned the recommend a friend promo I used for booking our Vegas trip with Expedia which I found on hotukdeals.

    http://www.referafriend.expedia.co.uk/

Recommend a friend by email - they get a £20 discount code. Once the use it you get a discount code for £40.

I recommended Liz & booked under her name on Friday & I just got my £40 code through today.

Please rembeber that the places listed above are cheap, cheerful, require no thought/effort and the food is uninspiring but edible. If dosh isn't an issue don't think about setting foot in any of them.

It's funny, but I wouldn't put any of those in the 'cheap' category...more mid-range I would think....though I suppose we never eat at the really high-end places so my perspective may be a bit off.

I do understand what you're saying, but think that for the average traveller they are good suggestions and value for money.
