    Hi all,
Currently writing my xmas list and the American Casino Guide 2010 will be on it! Came across the list of amendments to the usual coupons for Vegas, so thought I would share with you!

    http://americancasinoguide.com/casino-coupons-2010-coupons-for-casinos-in-las-vegas-and-usa.shtml

I usually buy this book from Amazon BUT its not out just yet - but if anyone is interested you can see what coupons will be in it for next year!

I got it in 2008 and it was invaluable to me - LOTS of bargains!

For anyone really on a budget I would recommend the Imperial Palace deluxe rooms, not the Capri rooms. They are basic no frills, but clean and comfortable enough.

The location cannot be beaten being centre strip and with a monorail station to get you to north or south strip.

For not much more you can get a much better hotel such as the MGM if you look out for promos and offers. The IP may be $35/night weekdays and the MGM $50 so less than a tenner a night difference, but the difference in quality is vast.

Staying there 14-22nd Nov, £437 for 2 rooms x 8 nights. I know lots of people (Ok, 3) who have been Vegas and stayed there and as you don't spend much time in the room, its fantastic because of the location!

Have you ever looked at the coupon book you get with a Las Vegas Advisor membership? In previous years we always got both, but this year before deciding I picked out which coupons we would definately use from both, priced up the value of the coupons vs. the membership cost and for us the LVA worked out better value in terms of the 100% guaranteed we'd use them coupons (and that's ignoring the 50% off up to $50 Palms voucher we have never yet managed to use)...so we went with just the one. But I don't think the 2010 coupon list for LVA is out yet. :)

Had a quick look. Fly WT+ for £840ish in March, upgrade to clubworld for £200ish each leg using Miles For Upgrade (or 25,000 miles return) and for just over £1,200 you get what is comparible to VS upper.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Anyone on the board seen Jersey Boys? What did you think of it?

We saw it in May and absolutely loved it. We were prepared to go again in November with the family, but they weren't interested. We had front Orchestra seats for the price of the cheaper seats courtesy of Vegas.com or someone similar.

    Hi ferf!
Thanks for the tip - I will take a look at that when its out - though, from memory its more expensive than simply buying ACG 2010.
I found the 2008 ACG book great, didnt get the 2009 one BUT, looking at the 2010 list there are a few vouchers that I would definately use that have changed IE :-

The Gold Coast used to be 241 buffet - now its earn 200 and get a free buffet
The Orleans used to be 241 buffet - now its not there at all - its 241 show tickets :(

    Useful additions for me are:-
Rio - 241 Carnival World Buffet
AND The Ellis Island 241 menu item, 4 free cocktails/drinks and $10 matchplay are still there - so a return trip there is DEFINATELY on the cards :).

If I get the book for a pressie then it doesnt cost me anything so its all free!

It is more expensive to get the LVA coupon book/membership, but we found it better value (taking into account the additional cost) for us after doing the calculations I mentioned. For others it may not have more value, but worth looking at. :)

I almost had a heart attack yesterday when I realised our potential dates for our next trip - over Easter - coincided with the NCAA Final Four...having heard nothing but 'omg, Vegas is INSANE during March Madness' I just assumed it would put us off. I did some looking around various places and found that a guy whose posts I've read for years and years mentioned something about Final Four in Vegas before so I sent him a message and he's put my mind at rest.

But part of his message I thought would help people unfamiliar with March Madness understand why Vegas is so crazy - especially in the early stages and why it may be best to avoid it...he's summed it up so well, so thought I'd post it here..he doesn't mention, but this is US college basketball, so a good portion of the crowd will be early 20s...to put it further in perspective (in case anyone's thinking - eh, college basketball, how many people want to watch that)...my hometown is home to an NCAA university. The venue where our basketball team plays seats 16,000+ and regularly sells out.

When the Tournament starts there are 65 teams which play 33 games over 3 days, and then 16 games less than a week later, followed by 8 games. This is why every one wants to be there early, because there are so many games to watch and most importantly to bet on. At the end of the tournament there are only a couple of games to bet, so it's not as fun. Also very important is that the final game is always Monday or Tuesday, and not the weekend.

Row 37 is not an exit row, the exit is behind that row.
Lots of people congregate in that exit space while waiting for the toilet. The telescreen is in the normal place, on the back of the seat in front of you.
