I'm going to vegas from the 21st til 28th decemeber. I'm hoping to go on a helicopter tour to the grand canyon on my second day there (22nd), should I book it before I go or wait til I get to vegas?

We did those dates last year and booked canyon trip before we went. Youll probably spend your first day comparing the various options and places to book....IMHO sort it out before you go.

We did the flight to the South Rim and bus trip around the national park.....froze my nuts off.....saw the most surreal sight there of buddhist monks in brown sack robes and sandals playing snowballs!!!

booked flights for Easter - yay! Seems so far off but hopefully will come around quick enough.

Hotels researched...we still get the best deal at Bally's by quite a long way, and while I'm kind of tired of Bally's (mostly tired of the casino, but really like the big rooms) it seems silly to pay extra to stay somewhere we might not like...especially because while I'd probably be OK experimenting elsewhere, I can't deal with the thought of the 'I told you so' looks from my hubby if it all goes wrong. ;)

Hoping that Wynn extends an offer he got for $99/night Sun-Thurs, and if you stay 3 nights you get $150 freeplay. If they do extend that offer, I think we may have our first trip where we move mid-way through. :)

Hi Froggit - the link is specific to his account (has his email address in the link)...he can send an invite to others but the offer isn't as good - its:

Friends and family can enjoy a Resort Room at Wynn Las Vegas
at these special nightly rates and receive $25 RESORTCREDIT.
    $119 Sunday through Thursday
    $189 Friday and Saturday

Edited to add - the offer that I got via his invite also included a complimentary upgrade to:

Encore Resort Suite King at the time of booking based upon availability.

The offer he got (which was better overall) had an upgrade to a Wynn Resort King room instead of Encore.

If interested pm me your email address and I'll have him send it on

    Hi all,

Am looking at moment to book for next october for our 2nd visit but this time gonna get wed, anyone any experiences of this in vegas? Ive read a little on the legalities(getting licence) but one thing dont quite understand is the certified licence required for back home, on some sites it says that you apply for it in vegas and they send it off to the uk for registration, has anyone experience of this?? We have pretty much decided on the little white chapel, theres so many to chose from and thats the only one ive really heard of!

Ive looked for flights and as TC are only direct from manchester now will prob plump for them but dates are pretty tight)only 13th available) in oct as want to go in premium only really, is there much difference between TC premium and BA standard? As for hotels alot dont seem to be available in oct(most MGM ones) was looking at mirage but shows zero availability, thought this was strange as couldnt find any big conferences on, does anyone know why this would be? May yet splash out a bit more and stay at palazzo or bellagio yet tho!!

    Cheers!!

I'd think it's far more likely MGM simply haven't loaded next October yet.

hey you can join me and ( i think) Stoneman who got married there . there are tons of other places of course but the great thing is you don't have to book in advance with most . :T:T

i will ask Mrs Trets about the certified license thing as she handled all the legal stuff back in the UK .

Getting the license is easy , just take a cab downtown to the license office with your passports , queue up , fill out few forms , pay some cash and then you are free to get married anywhere you please, whenever you please . .( in Nevada of course)
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

I'm toying with a few days in Vegas in early December -whilst checking out hotels I found the Orleans have a special offer of free nights. I looked at 8th and 9th of December -first night $35-second night free. On the Orleans website www.orleanscasino.com under offers.

Thanks for this duchy - excellent deal for you!

I wonder if I can ask you specifically for a favour? (And, of course, anyone else who happens to come across anything!)

I know that you stay at The Orleans quite a bit and are therefore likely to get emails/offers etc - will you please let me know if you come across any future deals for The Orleans specifically for next year (30/6/10-14/7/10)?

I am sure you will post them anyway but thought I would state my exceptional interest in any deals you may come across! - Thanks.

The best deal I got for Orleans (in 2008) was $35 Mon-Thurs and $80 Fri/Sat with two free buffets (Via Travelzoo). As me and my OH will be staying for 14 nights - any deals would be most welcome! Thanks.
