Cheers Trets that would be great if you could ask about the certified bit!!
Don't really know what you mean by "certified". We got givin our marrige certificate when we wed at the drive thru in the Little white wedding chapel,($40 all in) they send the legal stuff over to the Licencing department in Vegas and they send you another certificate to your home address in the U.K. Job done, nothing more to do this end. Just make sure if you have been married before to take your [STRIKE]decri nisi[/STRIKE] paperwork with you.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Hi,
I really need some advice from people on here who have flown with Thomas Cook Airways if any of you could help?

I am seriously considering booking a MAN to LAS flight in June with Thomas Cook Airways. (Unfortunately, its the one where the outward journey picks up in Glasgow).

Priced it up online (£968) and after a trip to my high street branch during my lunch hour today they can do a return trip for two for £925 in June/July 10 with luggage.

My OH is very keen as its a direct flight (sort of). I like the flight times they are very good and suit us BUT I have flown My Travel before and the plane and seat pitch were ridiculous - very uncomfortable and I said I would never do it again. I seem to recall someone on here praised the new TC Airways - can anyone share their first hand experiences with me?

I have just done a search on here and can see that davidmcg2u, mookybargirl, wdwy and Mr Raol seem to have flown with TC Airlines - whats your opinion?
Mr Raol says "never again" which is off-putting to say the least....

£925 is over budget when I could get a "one stop" for around £800 in forthcoming sales BUT I would be prepared to pay that for the convenience IF THE SEATS/JOURNEY is a pleasant one. Last time we flew BMI direct from Manchester and that was a DREAM. I am not overly picky but dont want my knees round my chin!! lol.

Any advice would be gratefully received!

    Cheers Stoneman!

I may have got a little confused by reading different websites, i read that tyou need a certified copy of the marrige certificate you get from the chapel to register here in the UK to make it legal over here! If as you say they actually do this and post it to you at home then great and i am prob worrying about nothing!

Stef - i too am considering TC flights and i previously flew with bmi, i had a mate who went with them in aug this year but in the premium cabin who said they were fine, i am hoping to go premium also but was still a little unsure(price has risen by £20 each since this morning!!)

    not flown with them BUT

with stopping in Glasgow does this make it pretty much the same as a one stop flight . okay i know you don't have to collect luggage ect at Glasgow but i remember someone saying they were on the tarmac at Glasgow for over an hour .

personally i would rather have the cheaper fare with a USA carrier ( which will almost certainley have a better luggage allowance )
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Hi, I was hoping to get some advice on my first trip to Vegas (in fact first trip to the States!!).

We are going next May (so fair amount of time still to go) and have booked elements of the trip (flights, hotels in Death Valley, Yosemite and the Canyon loop which have limited supply).

I'm now looking at hotels for the 3 nights in Vegas (we'll have already done one night before our road trip at New York, New York). My questions are:

    - currently looking at either MGM Grand or Caesars Palace - anybody have any views as to which one people prefer to stay at/comes with the highest recommendation. Or any other suggestions?

    - when would you suggest booking. I assume given the size of Vegas they won't run out of rooms, but would you book now or do rooms tend to go down in price closer to the time.

    - a few people have mentioned deals for hotels. What's the best way of being informed about these (apart from checking here which I will be doing). Sign up to hotel websites, facebook...?

    - do deals tend to still be available even if we are staying Friday to Monday?

I think that's all for now. If anyone can offer advice that will be really appreciated. Thanks!!

Read Page 1 of this thread which has some excellent advice on booking hotels.

I have stayed at both Caesars and MGM. The Classic rooms in Caesars are supposed to be pretty bad so the least you should be looking at is a Forum or Palace Tower room. You will get a Grand Tower room at MGM for less than half the cost of Caesars.

IMHO dont book the Caesars Classic and hope for a $20 upgrade.....MGM is fine and rooms are more consistent.

I'm going to vegas from the 21st til 28th decemeber. I'm hoping to go on a helicopter tour to the grand canyon on my second day there (22nd), should I book it before I go or wait til I get to vegas?

I booked online for my wife and I prior to going. I saw loads of offers while in Vegas but none appeared to beat the price I paid on line. I booked direct with Papillon on the Grand Celebration Tour. The cost for the both of us was $506, which included using a 10% off voucher found online. The whole experience was fantastic, the service from Papillon was first class. We were collected from our hotel (Caesars Palace) and taken by mini bus to Boulder City. Our helicopter landed in the canyon and our pilot (Rob) served us with a picnic lunch and champagne. We stayed on the canyon floor for about 25 minutes before taking off for the 35 minute flight back to Boulder city. The total tour duration, including transit time from/to Boulder city was about 4.5 hours. A truely wonderful day.
  • Hi,

Got bit of a different question from normal but no luck after searching online - does anyone know where I can buy a genuine Caesars Palace whiskey tumbler as there have almost been tears in my household tonight (not from me!) after our souvenir holiday one broke.

Thanks for any advice however not getting my hopes up!
