Hi, I'm off to Vegas for the first time on tuesday.

I've been told not to bring much clothing (out there 10 days) as you should buy them there. Can anybody tell me where these shops are that sell jeans and the like for much less than what we pay here? e.g I've heard £70 jeans for £30 (?!)

    Thanks in advance
    Dan

You really want to try the places like the Las Vegas Outlet mall that is about a mile past Mandalay Bay for things like jeans etc. They have a Levi's store that's quite reasonable, but you can only buy 6 pairs of jeans at a time. There is also a great Skechers shoe shop there too that, every time we have been has some great deals on too. Just be aware of the sizes - try stuff on before you buy.
Oh and it's hilarious picking things up like trousers that are size XXXXXXXL.
The other peeps on here will recommend other places, but me and DH also make a beeline for that mall when we go to Vegas (helps if you have a car with a large boot too:rotfl:)
And also, if you can, try Walmart, not just for clothes (ASDA George stuff)but for things like snacks and water, it works out far cheaper and you'll get to look and the interesting gun displays that seem to be next to childrens toys too
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j

Yep that lol. And keep everything crossed too, fingers, legs etc :rotfl:
Personally I like video poker better, you have more control over the machine (not much, but I always seem to do better on those than normal slots)
    Good Luck.

Thanks, where is Wallmart in relation to the strip?
I'm staying in the MGM Grand.
Am I more likely to be ripped off buying on the strip?

Going off on my memory Walmart (well one of them - there's quite a few) is about 10 mins away from the strip on Charleston. I would highly recommend getting one of those local maps that some of the casino/ Strip stores sell. It should tell you exactly where all the Malls are. If you have a car then it's fun just cruising round Vegas and seeing if you can drop on one.
In regards to buying stuff from the Strip, it's swings and roundabouts. The Casino's in general for things like water, etc are expensive, that's why I recommended Walmart. But on the strip there are Walgreens and CVS Stores that are good for stuff like that and cheap souveniers.
Personally me and DH shop around and find as many places as possible and compare prices. There are a couple of places for clothes etc on the strip, but we seem to find them a little more expensive than wandering around the malls.
    HTH

In general, yes. there are a very few with some level of skill involved in the bonus round (Pong is the only one out at the moment I can think of but there have been others like Ripley's Believe it or Not which had trivia questions as the bonus round).

I like slots for the very reason some don't - I don't have to think. :) In some cases the bonus round you will have to make some choices but in general it's push the button...did I win? and because the way the random number generator in all slots work, the nanosecond you press the button the outcome is decided. So if you leave a machine and someone else sits down and wins a ton, chances are you would not have pressed the button at the same time - so you would not have had that win. Helps to remember that. :)

That said, I took a kicking on the slots again today - at least yesterday I minimized my losses but today was another bloodbath.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    hi

how long do we need to be at airport before flight

Your airline's website should advise you of this information...in general they will say a minimum of 2 hours before an international flight...but it does vary and is best to check directly with your carrier to be sure you have correct information.

There is no stratgey to winning. However you do have to select how many lines to play and how much to bet per line.

To maximise your chances it is best to choose the maximum amount of lines. This is the top row of buttons and you can choose from 1 line to whatever the maximum is. On some machines it's only 9 lines, on others it can be as much as 250 lines.

Then you choose how much to bet per line, from 1c to say 10c. If you choose 40 lines and a 1c bet per line, each spin will cost you 40c.

As for shopping, we prefer the Premium Outlets near downtown as they have a bigger and better selection of shops.

Last week a lot of the shops had buy one, get one half price including Adidas, DKNY Jeans and Skechers.

Didn't see a single thing to buy in Macy's so we didn't bother getting the discount card.
