SeptemberCity Center is looking a lot better now than it did in May when it was still pretty much a building site.0

SeptemberSorry to hear about the gambling ferf. I also sat at a machine and played one spin then discovered it was a 5c machine rather than 1c so I quickly moved.
I hope the gambling gods smile down on you soon.0 -
October , NovemberGot a few questions I hope some kind souls can help me out with...
Im going to stay in The Venetian (arriving Saturday night about midnight) for a fortnight. We have got the luxury suite booked, which as far as I can tell seems the 'entry level suite'. It looks a wonderful room. However I have read about the $20 complementary upgrade. The missus is worried that we will get a worse room or will have to pay extra at the end of our stay if i do this. Does this ever happen? What are feasible upgrades from Venetian Luxury Suite? Are there any steps down from there (Venezia Tower?)? If they ask me which upgrade I would like, what would u choose? Diff suite? Better view? Palazzo? Are there any other perks u can hit the clerks for?
Also Ive made a list of things to visit (entertainment, shows, attractions, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc), but Im finding it difficult to plan which ones to visit in conjunction with restaurants (which i also have listed). Which is best way of working out which is near to which?
Are there any particular scams to beware of, other than hustlers in bars etc?
I planned to bring 2 fairly large suitcases (to use for excess shopping I will do!) as we are allowed 2 x 23kg allowance but I have been told that immigration may look upon people bringing two cases as more likely immigrants and give them a harder time. I cant imagine bringing 2 cases to somewhere like Vegas is gonna arouse suspicions. Can anyone clarify whether this is likely?0 -

I'd say given that you're staying for 14 nights an upgrade would be unlikely. I'd try with 50 but i'd say a better view and maybe some vouchers would be the expectation. Venezia Tower is an upgrade but further away from the ACTION. Check out their site and prices of upgrades to give yourself a better idea.
Please post back here after your trip to let us know how you got on0 -
SeptemberAs for shopping, we prefer the Premium Outlets near downtown as they have a bigger and better selection of shops.
Last week a lot of the shops had buy one, get one half price including Adidas, DKNY Jeans and Skechers.
Didn't see a single thing to buy in Macy's so we didn't bother getting the discount card.0 -

Firstly try not to plan to much. Obviously plan your shows and have a list of restaurants you would like to eat at, but don't try and cram everything in so its a military operation. There are hundreds/thousands of great restaraunts out there. If your hungry and happen to be near a restaurant you want to try great - if not try somewhere else.
The only 'Scams' are the time share people offering 'free shows'. Just tell them no thanks or your not married.
Immigration do not know how many cases you have. You go through immigration before you collect your cases. We (me and Gf) took 2 cases out and bought 4 cases back. Don't worry.0 -

Have just returned from LA, Vegas and GC.
Gc was warm during the day but as soon as the sun sets its trousers and jumper weather.
Vegas was hot but they had a heat wave.
LA was comfortable with shorts a t shirt weather.

SeptemberHi, we are going to Las Vegas on Saturday, we would like to visit the Grand Canyon preferably helicopter / plane etc. Any advice if we should book on line before we go or wait till we get there? Also any company / tour is best or recommended? Thanks.
No real need to book from here, so many companies offering trips you will definately get booked on one. Have you thought about driving yourself?
You will get to see the south rim instead of the inferior west rim.0 -
October , NovemberPurplequirky,
Don't worry about immigration, best bet if you have two cases is split you clothes across the two, or put one inside another, this is common, or take one and buy a cheap case over there,
Scams, yes timeshares, and I don't know if anyone else has noticed it recently but you also have the groups of people playing find the lady outside caesars, they operate as groups to try and entrap people, my advice is just carry on walking and don't get sucked in,
But this is no different to over here.
City centre, this was this was the most recent picture I could find, I was there in September and back over next week, so will update, the bridge over is just about finished and the road opposite has to be complete,0 -
Quite an interesting article here in the Wall Street Journal about future expansion plans (Or lack of them!!) for Vegas in the next decade.
