The Venetian and Palazzo are to start charging a $15 resort fee from 1 October.

"Resort fee includes local and toll free calls, unlimited in-suite internet access, daily local newspaper and access to Canyon Ranch fitness center."
thats not bad considering gym access and internet

do the resort fees for the venetian (specifically canyon ranch health centre) cover the spa facilities (obv not the treatments) as well as the gym? its gonna add $210 onto our trips which is a bit of a nuisance.

when was the resort fee introduced for the venetian? must be fairly recent? im wondering if anyone has any luck getting out of paying this? is it obligatory? not sure how much usage im going to get out of a gym on holiday.

No real need to book from here, so many companies offering trips you will definately get booked on one. Have you thought about driving yourself?

You will get to see the south rim instead of the inferior west rim.

Thanks, I have driven there before about 5 years ago. This time we are short on time and want to pack everything in, flying would be our best option. So much to do and see, shame we only in Vegas for 5 days. I think we will wait till we get there to book trip to GC, hopefully pick up a bargain.

I agree - even just internet as we're paying $13.99/day at Bally's...though I understand that for those who don't want gym and internet access it seems like they're getting stiffed since they can't opt out of the fee.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

This is just terrible. What ever happend to the old fantasy Vegas. All they seem to want now is the So-Cals for the weekends. Looks like any other city skyline now. I must be getting old.

I kind of see what your saying. The city centre is rather balnd. I am sure everything is state of the art but where is the vegas in it?
It kind of looks like any other flash hotel in any other city. Where are the fountains? Volcano's? Its flash but to plain for me.

Regarding resort fees. It might be prudent from now on to check the booking sites like Expedia, city&show, rooms.com etc. As they take payment in full up front you might find that it is hard for them to include a resort fee into that price seeing as though it is something that is tagged on as an extra. I seem to remember an offer for the Signature where the company had only added $10 per night when the Sig. had bumped up it's fee to $25
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

From memory, gym access was thirty bucks a day at Venetian, with wifi another tenner.

  • Whats cheapest?

    1. Package Deal
    2. Buy Hotel and Flights seperate

Me and the other half were thinking of going for the last 2 weeks of October. I would be grateful for any help, or pointers to any deals?

    Thank you.

Read Page 1 of this topic which has lots of advice.

No-one can tell you what's cheapest for you, you have to price both options separately to see what works for you.
