Thanks, Daividmcg2u, this will be my third time too. Yes, all I can talk about is Vegas. The first time I went, I also use Papillon but I actually stay at Grand Canyon flew from there so no idea what or who to use from Vegas. 2nd time I went for a wedding and didn't have time. But will definitely have a look at Papillon this time.0

SeptemberGot home about half an hour ago. Journey was fine until we tried to land at Aberdeen.
Flight from LAS to SFO was on time and landed early which was a bonus as we only had 1h 2m to change. Flight left SFO for LHR about 15m late, but arrived half an hour early.
Flight left LHR on time and was due into ABZ early. We were warned that it was very windy and may be a bit bumpy. The pilot attempted to land, but had to abort due to the wind. He attempted it again 20-30 mins later after flying around for a bit and the plane tipped what felt like 45 deg, but he had to abort again.
He came on and said we were diverting to Edinburgh, 120 miles away, as 4-5 planes had tried to land, but failed.
Landed in Edinburgh at 5.30, waited an hour for a bus to take us back to Aberdeen then a 2.5 hour journey back.
We were due to land at 4.50, the bus got into Aberdeen at 9pm then we went to pick up the car and had an hour's drive home.
Not the best end to the holiday, but it wasn't too bad as I slept most of the way.
Did our last bit of gambling at MGM yesterday morning. Put $20 into Hitchcock Theater and didn't even get a random bonus. I was down to my last 20c when I finally got a bonus. Got up to $120, played for ages after than and still cashed out at $120 so a successful last gamble.0 -
October , NovemberThose diverted flights are horrible!
We're lucky that we have only had short haul diversions, but they really add far more stress than time. We have been diverted to Tees-side instead of Leeds/Bradford, and Bournemouth instead of Manchester. Luckily the second one was only to drop off an unwell passenger, but she played holy hell that she wasn't being taken to the hospital of her choice, and refused to leave the plane for over an hour.0 -
SeptemberThe wind in Glasgow was horrible so Aberdeen must've been really bad.
I can only imagine what it was like being on the plane during the landing attempts.
The main thing is you got back home in one piece.0 -
Hi Luci
Glad you made it back safely. It was also very windy here on the West Coast, I had to go and retrieve things from my garden yesterday! Although it was a hassle to divert to Edinburgh, it's better to be safe! You'll be extra tired now though too!0 -
October , NovemberGlad you made it home safely, Luci, and sorry about the terrible last leg of the journey...I can imagine that by that point you only wanted to be home and didn't need that sort of a faff at the end of the trip.
We saw Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre yesterday - for $22.50 plus $2 service fee at Tix4Tonight (with coupon for $2 off). It was cute and in our determination of value based on how much we could have lost in the casino for the duration of the show was worth seeing. I got to pet a cat on the way in which made my day as I'm missing ours quite a lot. Most of the animals are rescues from the local shelter. He obviously really loves them and takes good care of them. I'm a bit iffy on performing animals (I hate hate hate the dancing dogs at Crufts) but for the most part they seemed quite relaxed and weren't asked to do anything too crazy...they seemed to be enjoying themselves. It wasn't a great show, but it was a nice diversion for the afternoon. It was in no way worth full price though. If you have kids it's probably better value.
Plus we saw Stanley Tucci and a gaggle of kids at the show...that was kind of cool. Not a massive star, but I like the guy even if it took us over an hour to figure out his name.
I had a massage afterwards and stuck my head into Tix4Tonight at Hawaiian Marketplace and was a bit gutted to see Cher tickets for $47.50. It was 6:29pm. The show was to start at 7:30 - exactly the time my husband and I had agreed to meet back in the room so no way I could guarantee I could go get the tickets, get my husband and get back to the theatre in time. Checked this morning and $108.50 was listed, but may check back later to see if they have dropped prices.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
SeptemberGood luck with the Cher tickets. We looked in T4T several times and every time it had Cher listed as "Regular price: $118.50 - Our price: $118.50" which we always laughed at.
If anyone fancies seeing Carrot Top, makes sure you go to T4T and not VegasTix4Less. One is $39 and the other $49.50.0 -

October , NovemberHi, I'm off to Vegas for the first time on tuesday.
I've been told not to bring much clothing (out there 10 days) as you should buy them there. Can anybody tell me where these shops are that sell jeans and the like for much less than what we pay here? e.g I've heard £70 jeans for £30 (?!)
Thanks in advance
Dan0
