OK - it didn't take me long to get to indiegirl's trip report - I really can't resist them so have just read it while hubby is sorting himself out for the day.

I loved it! Great detail and I giggled a number of times (at appropriate points, I think). I love your style of writing. My hubby and I have been watching what we eat at home and have lost quite a lot of weight too and had planned in advance to take some time off of that in Vegas...which we have, but at least find that we're full more quickly than normal..shame about the wasted food. And PF Changs - I swear the portions are crazy - we know this, we always say we will not over order, we always do. :)

As for the great reclining debate - it's possibly the most heated travel-oriented discussion ever, or can be. I am of the opinion that keeping in mind the relative comfort of your fellow travellers is important and whacking your seat to fully reclined right after takeoff and leaving it there the duration is rude. If I recline, it's 1/2 way or less, and only then if I can confirm that the person behind me won't suffer.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Many thanks for the nice comments ferf. I would love to do it again sometime.

I too would love to read Indiegirl's TR, but we will be checking out in less than an hour so I hope I remember to go back to it.

Please someone post a prompt in a couple of days time so I can read it once I'm home if I don't manage before then.

Sitting at McCarran airport waiting for our flight to SFO then to LHR and ABZ. Had the usual carry on with the self service check in terminals. It attempted to print our boarding passes then stopped and said to try another terminal. The same thing happened there, but a nice United lady sorted us out, apart from the LHR-ABZ ones which we have to pick up at LHR.

Had good luck this morning at MGM. Put $20 into Hitchcock Theater, didn't get so much as a bonus round so moved to another HT machine, had only 20c left when I finally hit a bonus. Eventually got up to $120 with several bonuses including one of 2500 credits and one of 3000 credits. Still managed to play for ages after than and still cashed out $120. OH was down to a couple of dollars, managed to play for ages and still broke even.

Had a really nice CW so had a couple of White Zinfadels and she gave us water even though we hadn't asked for it.

Ive only known comps from Virgin if youre part of their corporate scheme and you want to "try out" Upper....we had a deal whereby we booked Premium, and if there was space we got bumped into Upper.....five of us got upgraded together once.

Did this for a year or two before they cottoned on that the company was too tight to pay UC prices and they stopped the upgrades.

Going to America for the first time ever on Wednesday having a few nights in LA, 3 nights at the Grand Canyon and the rest in Vegas!! Am getting quite excited now it is nearly here :j just have a quick question to help with my packing dilema, how cold will it be at the Grand Canyon (south)? Have read varying temperatures on different websites which has left me a bit unsure what to pack . Any help appreciated...

Also does anyone know what the Excess bagage charges are like at vegas airport as we are flying withn thomas cook so quite restricted on baggage.

    many thanks in advance :)
