Virgin trains guard

I would counsel Miss Moon to go out, have fun but also be on your guard, though not literally ! Of course your a little bit vulnerable at present. Just be friends. Bear in mind that most men have an eye for a pretty girl and their intentions are not always honourable.
Have you been back to his place yet?
A train driver for VT would be unusual at 21.
Those jobs are as rare as rocking horse droppings.
Good luck..0 -
People in life are so quick to complain now, that its doubly important to make sure when things like this happen that we do everything we can to thank the person, but also make their superiors aware of the great work they have done too.
I was once getting a train from Stoke to Stafford and just before I got on the train I had the bad news that my grandma had passed away.
Obviously I was upset so when it got to 5:05 (when my train was due) I just jumped on the train that was at the platform.
Anyone who doesn't know, Stoke to Stafford is 20 mins... well I had only gone and jumped on the train DIRECT to London.....
Went and spoke to the conductor who said there was no way to stop the train, but told me to find a seat and see him when we got to London. Went and saw him later and he gave me his personal mobile and said to get on the next train to Stafford and if anyone asked for my ticket just explain what happened and tell them to call him if any problems... the bloke was a true gent. I e-mailed Virgin later that week to say how great the guy was.0 -
Beleive it or not a ryanair guy helped us a lot with baggage , avoided 600 quid charges :P0

What a lovely story! And sounds a lovely chap - a white knight!
Always be on your 'guard' with anyone new (sad but true) but enjoy it.
Hope it all works out

You know what Liam, I give up I've put up with enough people like you always disbelieving with what I say. Its made me feel like rubbish when I with my ex, I'm not putting up with it here!0

Sarah, don't worry about liam - he's just voicing concerns. Only you know this chap so it's only your decision.
We're all behind you whatever happens!

What is all that about?!
I point out a few things for you to be wary of and then get abuse for it.
It is not a case of me believing what you say at all, to be honest I couldn't care less!
I was pointing out the fact that a 21 year old would probably not be a train driver and if you are starting a relationship with this guy and that is what he has told you, he is lying to you straight away and in my opinion that is not a good basis for a relationship. What else could he by lying about etc.
If you don't like other people opinions and comments you shouldn't post onto public forums.0 -
To be honest the whole thing seems unlikely. I regularly travel by train and have only seen one or two guards under the age of 25 on local trains let alone a 21 year old guard on intercity trains.
I can well imagine a train guard helping out a damsel in distress but chance meetings and going out for coffee and lunch just seems to be a bit far fetched. I am sorry to dissapoint all those following the "love story" but people do tend to stretch the truth on the internet.0 -
From another one of your posts:I asked my friend who is a driver and he said its upto the "TOC" if they wish to implement a charge most do not (As they use the Tribute system - its sold as if you bought it direct from them) whilst thetrainline uses another system which earns them no revenue and they charge on the payment
Even though Virgin own the trainline they dont charge through the train site but they do if you go through the train line
So if you have a friend who is already a train driver and you seem to know a bit about trainline.com and Virgin trains, why start this thread in the first place??
Another one of your posts:Your reply is quite rude, I thought a site rule was be nice to everyone?
Well doesn't that rule apply to you?0 -
I would guess, if the chap isn't a train driver, he probably told a white lie to impress a young lady, thinking he wouldn't see her again! And he is probably wondering how to wriggle out of that white lie without looking a complete !!!!!
Young love etc., etc.,
Sarah enjoy the attention! And forgive him a white lie if he is genuinely a nice guy!
