LOL! That would be funny if it wasn't literally true. A few weeks ago I took my car to Nationwide to have some tyres, which I had bought from Mytyres, fitted. I arrived and told them what I wanted doing - they were going to do the job while I waited. 40 mins later the manager comes out to me an told me they couldn't do the job because they didn't want to risk damaging my wheel rims (they are in perfect condition with no marks).
Now, if they can't change a tyre that doesn't bother me but why did they take so long to tell me when they knew I was waiting. I should have billed them for my time.0 -

Well done Tomocb. You have been totally vindicated. It never ceases to amaze me why people hijack threads with their devil's avocate positions. We seemed to have attracted quite a few non supportive people to this thread.
NA are a poor organisation which needs a kick up the backside. Hopefully your diligent actions will bring about some improvement.:beer:0 -

honestly there are some good people working for them , but they are few and far between . even the AA patrols shudder to take work to them .
here is a quote from some of the patrols on the unofficial AA patrols website
"yeah mate go to nationwide. you could spend the first 2 weeks showing them which end of a screw driver to hold, then steadily progress to more technical stuff like what a spanner is. good luck"
"i love nationwide, they make even me look good"
"yeah i use prefered repairers rather than fault inducers"
"Retard company, overpriced, struggle with a wheel change but if they will take it in and its off your boom what you moaning about,Oh and arnt they are reccomended repair"
"You have got to be really desperate to take someone to nationwide. Really really desperate !"
those are quotes from AA patrols , and to be honest it paints a picture .
hope that helps

It wouldn't be appropriate to tell you in an open forum. You have my assurances that it is entirely legit and I would like to send you the persons contact details via email. My private email is tomocb @ hot mail . com
All will be clear when you see who it is from.
Many thanks.0 -

I have been made to look like a complete fool because of the assurance I passed on to my
partner from Alan. Over the past five years I have used Nationwide extensively and you will
see that I have spent a considerable amount of money for your service and every time I have
been delivered an appaling, rude, arrogant, inadequate service. Every branch I have used has
had problems which have required the intervention of senior management in order to resolve.
5 years later after more failed promises I find myself in an even worse position with
Nationwide than when I was told things would be improved at Branch level.
Given the extreme seriousness of these events I have been left with no choice but to report
Nationwide to the police for theft of money - the refund which has not been provided to my
partner Katie Nichols - and the criminal damage to the car which must have happened when I
returned the car to the Maidstone branch. I know that in whole this is a civil matter which
the police will not themselves investigate, but I will be discussing it with my solicitor in
order to ensure that legal action is taken.
Why use them for 5 years of "appaling, rude, arrogant, inadequate service" and then be so shocked, when you look a complete fool?! And do you think managers take you seriously (as a person) when you report then to the police for theft!!?
NA are a member of the Retail Motor Industry, RMI (they have a helpline if you require more assistance) and all members are assessed to their standards. They also have a very high number of staff/students on apprentiships (i used to work for the company they outsorced their training to)
I have also taken 2 of my 3 cars for yearly service and MOT to Rugby and both solihull branches for the last 5 years and not once have i had crap service. Everytime we paid with tesco vouchers and neither have we had the hard sell for extra business. The only time either car failed its MOT (and one was a P reg rover!) was due to a ABS fault only Honda could identify. They were nothing but helpful in trying to get it back in for a cheap MOT within 2 weeks even though honda couldnt locate the part in Europe
Hope you sort it out, but please get a grip
