  • Thank you! The stairlift Mum to One was financed by a charity so I need to maintain it. Adult Social Care would have helped finanbce it so that I would have to find £750 but at the time £750 was too much to have to find until a dear charity stepped in and covered the full £1500 cost. Just a quick post today. Am so excited, so so chuffed. While I waited at for my local garage for them to kindly check my car tyres I visited a charity furniture shop nearby, wanted to see what furniture they did and in particular if they had any dressing tables for dd. I had hoped to buy obe from Dunelm that was £150 prior to Xmas but the money ran out so I didn't. But guess what, saw a lovely one, just £20, £3 for delivery. It's going to be just right, and themoment I saw it I knew it was meant to be. Fortunately, I've been saving £1 coins since the start of the year so I am using that to pay for it as I don't want to lose it so my budget so the mortgage etc isn't going to be effected. Am so chuffed . Have achieved one of m y expenditure goals after all this month, it's ticked off thelist, back to financially getting prepared for the adaption and dd's trip away with the school....

That's great about the dressing table - I love it when a plan (unexpectedly) comes together! :D

Should be illegal to charge like that for stuff that people really need, though. *Grr*

  • So, dd dressing table being delivered Tues am. We have re arranged her room this weekend to make way for it. Otherwise things ticking along. Feel I could be doing better than I am. Still lots to put on ebay. I have taken some things to the local auction house this week where I have successfully sold things before. This time I've taken old silver and a couple of ornaments which I've always hated not least because they require a lot of efort to clean and I just don't want to do it!, used to belong to my gran and I am sure she won't mind if it means I have more money to get things paid for or debt paid off. We'll wait and see. If they sell, I get the cheque by the end of Feb. They advised me to sell other bits I took down there on ebay so am getting quite a list of things to put on there. Despite the fact it will generate more income, I seem to have a block with ebay. My priorities in the week are work, the usual things, then at weekend its the washing and tidying, cooking, ironing etc and by the time I sit here the last thing I want to do is ebay. I want to relax with dd and have a snooze or do my tapestry or something! I need to be more self disciplined! Anyway, will get at least 5 things on there this afternoon. A small target but I will do it!

Money really stretched at mo, Will feel happier this time next week by which time I would have paid my mortgage and tax bill and have some good orders under my belt. Things this week a bit sluggish with the snow and recovering from my fall. Physio pleased with me and whilst I have some more anti inflammatory tablets I have not yet succumbed to taking any this weekend.

Onward and upward. Am doing Roast Turkey later (leftovers from Xmas!), and have managed to keep my food bill really low this month utilising every tin in the cupboard and food in freezer. So thats been positive. We had corn beef burgers last eve with a cheese sauce. Really nice.

Thats me, just about to get my paperwork sorted and put 5 things on ebay!!!I will! And then relax ... ready for the week ahead!

  • No I didn't, a friend popped by for a cuppa and by then i just couldn't face going on the computer again. But I have made a pledge to myself that if I do one more thing each day to generate more income then that would be good and to that end I'm doing ebay today for just half an hour! Little and often and little is better than not at all....So, Kl orders recd yesterday were just terrific. Dd's dressing table came this am and it looks just smashing in her room. I'm so excited for her to see it later. Feeling quite tired today and am limiting my Kl activity because of it. Deciding to fit in more later in the week if I can. I love being out and about however the wind and rain got to me yesterday a bit and Im paying the price today I think. Not the end of the world, just a bit frustrating. Still life is positive, feeling good about my business, starting to make enquiries to build up my team again as I have left that for a while because of the tiredness issue and wanting to prioritise time with dd. Now shes a bit older though at the grand age of 10 she says she would help me with different things as indeed she already does and indeed when she helps me it really is help not a hindrance! so I would then pay her a bit of pocket money and have more time to focus on building my team as well as seeing my customers. This is one of my goals for this year, to adjust my work routine to be able to do this without impacting too much on tiredness, falling and time with dd.

BTW, have had to chase Social Services twice now about the shower grant, have not recd anything, I speak to very nice people who tell me I will be called back and then never am. Again if I do not hear from them this week i will chase it up again next.

So, a lot on the go, but am grateful for the positive things happening and will continue to work my best with debt etc! I'm 48 this year and my target is to be free of my credit card debt by the time I'm 50 in 2.5 years. I have £18K left of credit card debt, but the amazing thing is this was £38K at its worst just 2.5 years ago, Ok I had some PPI payouts but these days I am more organised in what I am paying off with extra payments and so forth and I'm not increasing the debt. So, am thrilled with progress and intend to fulfill my goal there. Yes, as you can prob tell a lot going round my head at the mo!

    Back to work!...
