The good things sound very good, PaF: I'm sorry there are bad things, but such is life, and you at least can be proud that you are behaving in a way that will give your daughter good memories of you in her life and set her a positive example to achieve her goals, when the time comes.
A very, very merry Christmas to you and DD and I hope that it is a truly memorable one!:xmastree:

Well, my first post of 2013. Have been reviewing the budgeting and debt figures and taking stock. The Banking Ombudsman have contacted me this week. It would seem 99% likely I will NOT be receiving another cheque from Halifax after all. In typical Halifax style they made another error and apparently should never have told the Ombudsman I was owed more money. It's likely that it is just going to be treated as one of those things and they will get away with it. The guy at the Ombudsman is contacting me next week to confirm either way but I am prepared for the "worst". That said, I still feel confident about my progress without it. I have a lot of outgoings this year or at least I feel as if I have, I'm sure I'm not alone with that feeling! My car adaption will need to be transferred to another car, and that will cost, my stair lift is in dear need of a service, dd has a residential school trip later in the year, my tax bill by the end of this month. I've got it all noted down so I can be as prepared as poss. It will all get done, I just hope not at the expense of my debt busting. I want to be able to pay more off my debt and pay these other outgoings. Thank goodness there is no council tax in February and March!
I feel very blessed I have had virtually 2 weeks off with dd. We've had a lovely relaxing time, completed a 1000 piece puzzle which we will frame at some point. In the end I couldn't afford to buy her anything else for her bday. Our trip to see a musical was it, that became her birthday present. She seemed to love it though. My focus this month is to get finances on track, all my bills are covered but it is very tight until about the 17th January and my other concern is to sort out whether I can qualify for a grant to have a shower fitted. I thought I should have had the paperwork from Adult Social Care by now but haven't. And keep on top of my physiotherapy. I finishedmy course of anti inflammatorys just before Xmas and went to the docs on Xmas eve for an emergency prescription as the pain was back in my legs and back and so I need to sort that out. I can not live on anti inflammatories forever so I need to address the cause of the pain. Just one of those things I hope that will right itself!!
So, looking forward to the next 12 months, and buildingmy business, pursueing all methods of generating as much cash as possible, ebay, competitions, stuff I can do from home and with relative ease. Yes, it's all to strive for this year. Happy New Year to everyone! My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)

One of the things I've started this year is to have a big glass bottle, and then make a note on a piece of paper of every good, happy thing that happens. Then put it in the bottle with a view to emptying the botle at the end of the year and remember all the good times and things dd and I have done/achieved. So, already we have put our happy memories of this xmas school hols as an eg! It's to help us both know that even though dh is no longer here and we both miss him still v much life can still be and is good if we work hard at it and just relax into it and enjoy the moment!!
My 1 year goals include paying off at least £900a month off my mortgage and credit card debt. To set my alarm to stop falling asleep on the sofa into the early hours. To do something creative every day that is also relaxing, so for eg I have returned to doing some tapestry in an eve and dd and I had fun doing a 1000 piece puzzle during the xmas break. I have set a goal for my business sales, and building my business, and establishing ways of generating income through ebay and other websites. Health goals include taking more care of myself through utilising every avenue to help myself - physio, in January aim to do 5 mins on the exercise bike a day and build up from that, not wanting to over do anything at the mo. Look into going swimming with dd again in the hope of building my health up while having fun together. Only have sugar in tea in the am when I feel I need it!, and have another year of no more falls. The tripping up is part and parcel of each day but I like not falling!!!Then from this coming week put at least a £1 away each day. They are all little things but together will make a huge impact on our quality of life and feeling good about ourselves while also being organised and positive and focused for the future. So, thats me!My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)
