Thank you for all popping in.
So, "bad or shall we say challenging" news first. Have now filed a complaint about how my complaint with the Halifax has been dealt with. Its still not fully resolved. My case was refered back to the Customer Care dept and a lady wrote to me saying her undestanding of my complaint was that I was changing my buildings and contents cover to just buildings cover. No, no No! So, I phone her and explain she is completely wrong. Have since red a letter from Lloyds TSB to say they are dealing with my complaint but goodness knows what their understanding of it is! Meanwhile, the Supervisor who was in the original appointment I had at the branch when I was told my mortgage would reduce by £28 approx has given me a call. She tried to say that the reason my mortgage has not reduced according to the figures she and her colleague provided was because I have been in arrears with my mortgage. I challenged that explanation because at no time had that been told to me and I had explained my reasons for wanting to change my policy from my mortgage at the time and at no time had they said a mortgage isn't reduced where a policy is in existence on a mortgage that has needed a further 1/2 weeks to pay and that it isn't reduced even if the mortgage is up to date. And I asked where does that leave the other two explanations I have recd, the first being that I was told, "it doesn't work that way" and the second being that the monthly difference to the mortgage is considered a small amount, too small to warrant changing the mortgage amount? She then proceeded to check my latest mortgage statement on her computer and said she would call me back which she did. She then told me I haven't been paying my insurance since March 2010 yet I have entries which show I was paying the same amount as always up until when my fixed rate ended so how she worked that one out I do not know. I asked her where does that leave the explanation relating to my mortgage having been in arrears by the odd week or two? Are you saying that is incorrect? To which she replied yes. I put my hands up, she said, I got it wrong! Right, I said, I have had enough. I do not know what to believe. If you are right to now say my insurance was not being taken monthly why did you tell me at the appointment it would reduce by £28, why did you not check the situation before giving out incorrect info and anyway at no time have I been contacted by the Insurance dept to say the insurance is no longer taken monthly, here are your alternatives! Similarly, if this explanation is wrong, what on earth is someone at Supervisor level doing, firstly advising me of something that is untrue at an appointment and then trying to "get away" with not 1 but 2 incorrect reasons as to why the situation is as it is! So, following that call, I've written out a timeline of what has occured and filed a complaint with my local branch as to how the complaint is being dealt with so far.... We will wait and see.... The only thing I am wondering is did something get changed when my fixed rate with the bank stopped and I reverted to the variable rate which I am still on as it is at its lowest? I trusted the Halifax to tell me what my revised payt would be at the lower rate and naturally thought that included my insurance payment too. Surely, they wouldn't have discounted the fact that needed to be covered too? Anyway, whatever the case I was advised my mortgage would reduce by £28 approx and made my decisions based on that and so we will see what they come back with..

My parents have now changed one of the afternoons they have dd after school. I've seen my mum briefly when I collected dd from theirs last week and have managed to change things as they want it. TBH, I dont know what to think of their reasons whether they are trying to reassert and remind me what they do which I have always been grateful for. Dad is retired, mum is semi retired working her reiki business. The reason they wanted to change is that they only have the two days they have dd to go out together and having dd stops them being able to do that. Anyway, dd's after school place has been changed accordingly. Beyond that there is no contact like it used to be.. I'm getting more used to it now.

    So, heres the good news..
Have had my best 4 weeks of sales this year to date. My bonus will cover my mortgage payt completely and I already have orders waiting to be processed this week. All bills up to date. And today a dear friend went to a boot sale and came accross a lightweight walker bought new for £90, but she got at the bargain price of £40. This will help me get round without the falling over hopefully as the winter draws in and the likelihood is the weather will worsen so that was lovely of her and I will be paying her back later in the week.

Then the school have made it clear Im not to worry about being late. The head came up to me, told me she had had a fall herself recently and now she is still recovering she thought of me and said she understood what it is to have pain!! Theres a newsletter going out she said saying about lateness but it doesn't apply to you she said. Dont worry!!As it is so far I don't think we have beenlate apart from once when there was a car accident on route so we weren't the only ones. There have been a few close shaves but I am pleased with my efforts so far. And Ive accepted a friend offer to take dd in on a mon and tues. V sweet of my friend and I would really love to have said no thank you but I have to be sensible and not turn down the offers of support and help I do receive. Of course, it will be when the weather gets colder when it will be the challenging time or if I fall.. I wont, I wont!!!

So, thats me, off to get organised for the week and get dd in to the bath!

Sounds like great news about the best week of sales. Pity you can't say about it to your parents as I guess they would just pick holes in it

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • Beanie Lou I hear what you say. I am not in a position to be able to choose with finances as they are but that won't be forever and of course I plan to be mortgage free in the next 10 years anyway so not much longer in the scheme of things. I am prepared to take the complaint to the financial ombudsman if I have to. Will see what they do...Take care

  • Am a very proud mum today, well I am every day of course but today dd has been awarded the "golden child" award in her class( a child is awarded this each week). She did exceptional handwriting! I am invited to watch her on Friday at assembly to receive her certificate. Of course, I will be there. Shows that last year with the teacher she had was one of those years. Dd and I have gone out to celebrate, treating ourselves to a pizza. Shouldn't have done in one way, but in another a lot has gone well financially and it won't happen again now for some time..(Focused on reducing the debt etc!) We are now just about to have a game of scrabble and watch a dvd...
Yes, dear dear dd. Well done you dear little girl xx I'll be there cheering you on Fri am at assembly..
