  • Word village, did you take the 12p off for your money box?

I did, whether I was meant to or not:confused:

    What did you do?:rotfl:

I have had about 2 letters to post each week for months -used to have 10 or 11 a week. Doing a misdelivery survery this week and next. Just had 1 letter to post next week then in came another with a book of stamps as an extra. I think I have the world record collection of books of first class stamps. My Christmas cards and my mums will be going first class for the next few years :rotfl:Any suggestions on what to do with the stamps?

Enter some of the postal comps :D

I sell mine on ebay, sold some large letter stamps the other week and they sold for more than the face value. I know you get fees off, but i have no use for them whatsoever, just keep a book of 12 for birthday cards.

No, I've been leaving the money on the letter.

I tried to cash in my stamps a few months ago, and got blank stares from the Post Office. I'm not sure they know what it means to "cash in a stamp".

Pity, because I've got a ridiculous collection too :D

If you read back through the thread, there was information on how to do this some time back. As I remember you need a special form & the PO take 15% off the face value.

The other option is to sell on e-bay or give them to a charity.

I have a posting on Saturday which says 'after 1pm but before final collection' but final collection on Saturday is 11.45am. Does anyone know whether I should post it after 1pm or before 11.45am?

If I were you I would post it before 11.45am as the important thing is for the item to go. It's not as important to stick to the times.

I had one of these today as well, online it said "after 1pm..." but the paper schedule just said "before final collection" I posted it this morning and logged the time as it seems a bit daft to me for it to sit in the postbox for the rest of the weekend. I guess they could be trying to test the very first Monday collection but if they are they won't get much help from me as I always post before final collection in these circumstances :p

Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.
