Thats kind of you BUT I have a wedding in 2 weeks now and I was SO wanting to lose a stone by then :( I think may be I dont do enough (if any) exercise. I used to be very fit but have a prob with my back and knee now so rarely do much in the way of excercise.
Ah, a shame, but as a great success story title on caloriecount.about.com says, "it's a marathon not a sprint" http://caloriecount.about.com/its-marathon-not-sprint-b304399. The weight will only come off so fast and 2lbs a week really should be the limit.

If you lost another 2lbs per week for 2 weeks you will have lost 3/4 of a stone by the wedding? Not far off and as good as it can be in the time available :)

Does it take as long to put on a stone as it does to take it off?
I know it`s more enjoyable putting it on than taking it off.

    Life`s a marathon not a sprint.

Woohoo! 3lbs off! It seems I've finally broken my month-long 'can't be bothered' cycle. The best thing though is that that 3lb meant I hit both the 1st and 5% body weight (15lb) goals in one week. Very chuffed indeed and celebrated with a meal out at indian restaurant, long bubbly 'Lush' bath and chocolate :D then straight back on track tomorrow!

Where ever it is coming from, it is not fat. Don't let this be a discouragement and ask someone in your household to hide the scales from you for at least a week ;)
    Could it be:
    Cloths your wearing?
Liquids in your system, possibly a bit of water retention?
Other foods still in digestion compared to last weight in?
Different time of day being weighed?
Are you doing more excercise so more dense heavier muscle is developing?

If calorie in take is in the right place it cannot be fat.
Many times I've seen my weight go one way or the other by 2lbs one day to the next.
    Ignore it.

Hethmar - why are you weighing yourself everyday? Its obviously upseting you... What will be will be! As long as the overall trend is downwards over a longer period of weeks/months (depending on what you have to loose) is what is important. Weighing yourself every day isn't necesserily the best way to go about things as you will always vary a bit day to day.

I picked a day (Sunday morning for me) and weigh myself then and only then. It just demoralises me too much to weigh myself more often than that as I fluctuate too. I also have to be careful as I am recovering from an eating disorder (was released from treatment in Feb 09) so weighing myself daily is into dangerous obsessional territory for me so its not worth the risk.

Scales are also not necessarily accurate to the nearest oz anyway (even if they say they are) so please don't worry about it. Presuming you are eating less in calories than what you use you will be loosing weight.

Another thought - are you eating regularly/enough? I was advised by a dietician to eat something every ~3 hours (eg Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, tea, snack) so my body doesn't start going into starvation mode (eg if there were large gaps in time between meals).

LOL, I cant help it. If I weigh myself (electronic scales) and Ive put on ounces Im drawn to the scales the next morning like a moth to a flame. (completely naked by the way)

I know Im not doing it right. I have started using a little mechanical stepper machine that my son found in a charity shop :) for only a few quid. Its very effective actually, gets me out of breath in less than 5 minutes. May be that is building some muscles as I havent exercised like that in about 5 years now - I used to go to the gym 5 times a week and dance 3 times a week back then :( til my back/knee injury.

Lost another 1.25 lb this week (so 5lb off this month) but I'm not feeling great - almost passed out yesterday in the middle of a shopping centre! Really not feeling myself... Time to phone the doc I think! :(

  • Morning peeps hope you are all well :D

I haven't posted since last week, have been horrendously busy with work. I've been ill since Friday night as well, so have spent most of the weekend in bed, with OH moaning because he has to look after himself and me. I'm feeling a little better today after something like 4000 hours sleep, so I think I'll be working from my bed today! :D

After WI today I've lost 3lbs! :j:j:j My body fat and BMI are heading downwards as well which I'm happy about, I hope I can keep it going.

Good luck all those weighing in today, hope you all have a good week.
