  • Yep another mug here
I cancelled my so called order immediately but was still charged for p & p for something I have not yet received some 4 weeks later. Contact the online No helpline and asked them what was going on etc.

Told me to phone this number in the UK freephone apparently

The number to call is 0-808-120-1987. They are available 5:00 AM – 8:00 PM (MST) Monday to Friday. On Saturdays, they are open from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (MST). They are closed on Sundays

I told him I had cancelled my order and have received nothing and he told me I was gonna be charged some 89 dollars tomorrow on my credit card, he was arrogant and not very hepful :mad:so I phoned my credit card company and they said they would not accept any more deductions from either Dazzlewhite or their affiliates and that they had received hundreds of complaints about them and lots of people have been conned outta loadsamoney the 'beep beeps' how can they get away with this????:mad:I have to fill in a form to send back with the cancellation number so good news I hope.

Will keep you up to date on what happens next.
  • That's very good of your cc company. Mine wasn't quite so helpful although they were aware of the scam. Because I accepted the terms and conditions (did I ?) I must cancel with the scam company!
May I ask who the cc company is?

I have so far lost over £150 and not sure who else I'm subscribed to.
One deduction was from Healthsmile for shipping and the another from Nutralogy.
Then the biggies are from Natrology £81 odds and Ultifreshwell for £54 odds.
Thought I had got it sorted but am still waiting fora reply from the freephone number for god knows who but just got to keep on hanging on and hope I get them all cancelled before any more money is legally stolen!icon9.gif

So Sorry that is the number for Purely White. Like you I was caught also. All the best Countrygirl
  • I think it's ridiculous that some credit card companies are saying they cannot stop the scammers charging you even though they know the charges are fraudulent!

Phone them back and quote this advice:

If you think you’ve had your bank ‘cleaned out’ by any of a multitude of ‘life cleanse’ or ‘colon cleanse’ type internet scams, there is only one real remedy
Ask for a charge-back against the company through you credit card company. Your reason, when asked, is that the company has either:

    1. Not adhered to their own claimed ‘Terms and Conditions’ or
    2. The company cannot be contacted through their advertised channels
If the company fails on any of these two key points they have no excuse not to refund you. In fact, if they deliberately make contact difficult, it’s criminal.

Yes indeedy...chargeback is your best friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • My Credit Card is a tesco one Leaniebeanie...hope this helps. You must cancel all the so called orders and keep the cancellation numbers as I have and then contact your CC company again, they should then stop any further payments to them. Hope this helps, makes me really angry that you have lost so much money 'hugs'
  • Chargeback every time.
It's the only thing these crooks are really scared of. They are not afraid of the law because any fine is just peanuts compared to the dosh that they'll have secreted away in some ofshore account.
They are not afraid of the law because their shifting addresses mean they are hard to catch anyway.

I've just visited Just Think media, and this page is highly relevant to their scamming modus operandi.

    QUOTE:
    Case Study
Last year, our market research revealed a growing online interest in the Acai berry. That set our team in motion.

We researched the benefits of the Acai berry to ensure it could be part of a reputable product.

We did further research into why people were interested in the Acai berry.

When we discovered that weight loss was the primary motivator for Acai berry searches, we set out to find ingredients proven to help people lose weight.

We directed our manufacturers to create a product that combined the Acai berry with these proven weight loss ingredients.

Once the product was developed, we experimented with different website styles to market an Acai berry weight loss pill.

We ran a variety of split tests, tweaking the copy until it generated sales that matched or exceeded our target range.

We released the product and marketing materials to our affiliates, who have been able to profit from our proven ingredients.

    The key bit is:
We ran a variety of split tests, tweaking the copy until it generated sales that matched or exceeded our target range.
What this means is that there are hundreds of variations in the web pages floating round the web. This is why (as well as other plain criminal reasons) there are so many conflicting statements and why half the stuff doesn't work.
Remember, they are "tweaking the copy" for maximum profit, NOT for maximum visual effect. So if "the copy" is full of errors, lies and false promises, but these lies, errors and false promises deliver maximum profit because the maximum number of people have been found to be conned in this way - then so be it - that's what happens!

As Competition Cafe says above, repeating something I said a few weeks back:
It IS ridiculous that any credit card company is effectively colluding with the scammers by saying they cannot stop the scammers charging you even though they know the charges are fraudulent!

Phone them back and argue your position by thinking of this:

If you think you’ve had your bank ‘cleaned out’ by any of a multitude of ‘life cleanse’ or ‘colon cleanse’ type internet scams, there is only one real remedy
Ask for a charge-back against the company through you credit card company. Your reason, when asked, is that the company has either:

    1. Not adhered to their own claimed ‘Terms and Conditions’ or
    2. The company cannot be contacted through their advertised channels
If the company fails on any of these two key points they have no excuse not to refund you. In fact, if they deliberately make contact difficult, it’s criminal.

Any real company is EASILY contactable!
    MoneySupermarket.com - no problem
    Amazon.com - no problem
    strangelyperfect.tv (me) - no problem!

So why's it so hard to reach a scam company - because they're crooks. No messing. treat them this way and insist on a Chargeback, then the problem is between the Credit Card Company, and the scammer.
BTW. Don't use debit cards. the T&Cs are different.
  • I received 2 products: AltaWhite ($13.88 & $131.26 charge) & DazzleSmile ($14.90 & $87.62 charge). I have managed to cancel the DazzleSmile (they also signed me up to World Club Fitness who I had to cancel as well!). What I really need to know is how to cancel the AltaWhite as I have not seen it mentioned on here - only AltiWhite.
Do I call my c/c company with the cancellation numbers after I have all 3?
    thanks
    Dean
